Reuk as he tries to think of responses to casual conversation.

Reuk is a mom. Even though he is a wanderer that prefers to go through life at his own pace, he is extremely protective of those he finds himself associating with. Responsible, considerate, and kindhearted, he takes everyone in a group into his care. He is always ready to take a hit for the team, and he will patch up others' wounds before tending to his own. The only ways to really infuriate him is to threaten those that he cares for and to criticize his methods. Reuk lives life as he wants, and he will get angry at anyone that doesn't seem to understand that. He doesn't hold grudges though, so if you make him angry he'll forgive and forget and be willing to start over as if nothing happened. 

He enjoys being around other people, even if he can't really interact with them. This inability to communicate with others effectively is due to a disability he's had since he was little. His disability prevents linear thought, instead making him process things backwards. As a result, he has to spend time unscrambling his thoughts before speaking. Because of this disability, Reuk has developed incredible patience, and he greatly appreciates when people have the same patience for him and wait for him to speak. Waiting for him to sort out his thoughts is a really good way for others to earn Reuk's respect and befriend him.

Being the wanderer that he is, Reuk doesn't like when other people hold him back. He is very independent and will venture off if you don't give him a reason to stay, and he isn't used to people helping him. He doesn't like planning for anything and lives in the moment, and he will feel stressed if you put rules and boundaries on him. Not very good at keeping his stress in check during times of panic, Reuk can do illogical and rash things that can potentially cause a few issues.
