Physical description

Large head with a broad forehead, muscular neck, and distinctive neck ruff. Chest is deep and broad, long legs with splayed, broad paws adapted from consecutive travels. The orange and white bands on and around the neck are from a radioactive mutation of the chromatophores. Malik's irises have also been mutated in color from orange to a vibrant, bloody copper.

Mental Assessment

Malik is belligerent, hard-headed, and pugnacious. He is arrogant and battle-ready, and can be known for pushing his luck in fights unless the situation is incredibly dangerous. He is dual-natured, going from this to a hard-headed fatherly figure if it means Amirah's protection and safety. This side of his character is spurred on from the thought of loss.

Setting

Modern to futuristic modern.

Back story

Before the nuclear disaster, Malik was found as a pup and adopted into a pack consisting of primarily blood; sisters, brothers, fathers and mothers. Adopted, and the only malenistic of the group, he was targeted as a victim by the younger wolves and picked on, driving him to run off and spend most of his puphood exploring and getting into trouble. Whilst out, he came across Amirah, a white-furred pup of his age. Young, naive and still disinterested in others, it took time for him to find her trustworthy or even likable. They met each day at dawn, exploring and spending their days traveling together. During his adolescence was when the world was abolished. He lost track of Amirah, and lost the entirety of his pack to humans and disease. It was shortly after this when he was struck with radiation rot: a disease that eats the lungs and diaphragm, making it impossible to breathe unless treated or managed. Most individuals die from asphyxiation before the radiation poisons the host to death. There is a cure in humans and animals, but being wild, he is left without it. Instead, there are ways of managing it. Taking this information into account, he made his way to a Special Forces building where he retrieved a K-9 respiratory unit to manage his disease. Later, unusual circumstances brought Amirah and Malik back together. Tired and alone, the decision to stick together was mutual. Not only was there safety in numbers, but a physiological lift of a friend you could trust was a plus.

Ongoing story

Malik and Amirah are now inseparable. Best friends who never leave one another's side. Not only do they fight to survive day-by-day, but they are currently being hunted by Odin and Flashbang, two depraved canines who seek to kill Malik for his mask, and Amirah for other debauched means.
