Squarold is a young tentalopod boy with two very protective parents that that are always afraid of something happening to him. He's a rather fragile boy, after all, but that's because he's never had many opportunities to get out there and see the world. That was, until he met his best friend, Roberta. The two of them are adventurers together who go on expeditions to discover the creatures of New World, and watch their behaviours and abilities. He quickly became the secret associate of Dr. Squills. Squarold even had the idea to write a journal called the Book of Specimins. The two of them write it together on their ongoing hikes.

But even with his new friend, Squarold is a fraidy cat about... almost everything. He is often considered the most timid tentalopod of them all, and he has his reluctance and fears to show for it. Every once in a while, he just needs to be told that everything is gonna be ok, and nothing will harm him. Roberta almost tries to be the mom he never had in that regard, for his real mom never let him get out of the house without a GPS, or at least five watches. If Squarold is about to cry, you can guarantee someone will be there to tell him that he is a special child who means a lot to everyone, in and out of the tentalopod village. You really can't tame the cuteness of this sweetheart <3
