Theo Jaspers

Theo is a gentle soul, fond of poetry and the night sky.  The only things he takes very seriously are his relationships, and even then it's only when he needs to.  He's very trusting and good-natured, to an almost foolish degree, and his optimism is as blind as it gets.  He's actually quite intelligent, but it doesn't come up very often.

Theo joined a rebel cell with his friends mostly for the social aspect, but he was genuinely interested in making a difference.  He didn't really contribute much, but he was valued for his positivity and his particular way with words.  He wasn't much of a fighter (or runner, for that matter), so he was captured with the rest of the rebels.  None of the main crew know what happened to the captured rebels, but Kaz claims they were all killed in a staged prison riot.  Though he isn't the most trustworthy creature in the universe, Sorrel can't help but believe him.

Theo and Sorrel had been dating for almost three years, and had known each other a lot longer.  He was planning to propose before his capture, but his plans were ruined when the ring he was planning to use transformed into a magical artifact.  He took it to mean that something big was about to happen, so he entrusted it to her before he left for the doomed rebel meeting.  They made their promises through prison bars, but then Sorrel was dragged away.  That was the last she saw of him.

His memory still haunts Sorrel, but not in any literal sense.  I might draw him as a ghost, but that's just for fun!

Trivia:
-he's sort of meant as a "reversal" of the woman in the freezer/bury your gays trope, as he's probably the only straight, able bodied, white cis guy in this story and he's axed off pretty early lol
