Fenrisulfr's dominion as a guardian has shifted from a protector and forgemaster to a symbol for warriors and rebels. The obsidian dire wolf has long been misunderstood as an ominous, destructive force because of his association with death and battle, even among his fellow guardians. Humans who fear their own mortality treat Fenrir as a pariah and many of his shrines go unattended in the wake of his exile.
