Val has a short temper, but he's also good at hiding it (the perks of being a good actor). However, sometimes his temper slips through in form of double meaning words. He'll calmly say one thing that means another, and the negative connotations usually go over people's heads because he says it so politely. However, if you were to read into his words, they're quite condescending and mean-spirited
To the public, Val is a picture perfect angel who is sweet with words that matches a sweet face. Only those close to him would see him drop his angelic facade and realize that he's a lot feistier than they would expect. Even though he comes off a patient, he's anything but (he's just good at holding it in).

background
Valerius Nero is the eldest son of a renown entertainment talent agency's CEO. The Nero family has always had their roots in the entertainment industry with his father being a director turned agency CEO and his own mother was once a high class opera singer. His youngest brother, Cassian (Cass), is a successful influencer and a member of a recently popular boy idol group, and his second brother, Quintius (Quinn), is a popular anonymous novelist. He gets along quite well with his parents, but he signed with a different agency to prevent accusations of neopotism. He wants the public to acknowlege his skills as an actor and be aware that he was able to rise to fame on his own rather than relying on his family's reputation.

Val recently made his debut as an actor on the big screen and became an instant hit. Despite just joining the entertainment business as an actor, he quickly made it to the A-List with his angelic face and sweet personality... or so that's how he seems to the general public. In reality, Val is two-face and slightly condescending. He absolutely hate it when people call his skills "talent" because he believes in hardwork. Val dislikes people who doesn't put in their 100% into their work; people who have their roles and opportunities handed to them on a silver platter. He takes his job very seriously and hides his bad temperment behind fake smiles and double-edge words. Val is very critical of his peers and easily gets frustrated when he feels like someone is not pulling their weight on set; however he is genuinely polite to the staff because he is very grateful for the hardwork they do behind the scenes. Magazines and interviews like to comment on how sweet and gentle Val looks, but underneath the angelic mask lies quite a demon.

Due to his incredible success and reception from prior movies, Val was onboarded as the secondary male lead in the most anticipated drama of the season; starring his new co-worker Leo DiCapricorn. His stellar performance as the sweet childhood love interest to the female lead, and his incredible chemistry with his on screen rival, Leo, sky rocketed his popularity in the entertainment world; placing him just under Leo at number 2 for hottest actors of the season.

05 — Relationships
Coworkers -> Lover
Leo was once someone that Val considered his rival (albeit one-sidedly), but after spending more time with the other actor, Leo's charms and sweet disposition were able to bring down Val's walls and the two began dating in secret.
Younger Brother
Val's youngest brother whom he does not get along with. He thinks Cass is too spoiled and his youngest brother's carefree, bratty attitude irks him. Despite that, Val does care for Cass and would defend Cass's honor if the situation calls for it. The only person allowed to shit talk Cass is him.
Younger Brother
Val's other younger brother. Quinn and Val gets along fairly well. Quinn is meek and had depend a lot on Val's assertive personality when they grew up together. Val wishes Quinn wouldn't be so meek, but is otherwise fond and protective of Quinn. Quinn really respects Val and sees him as a role model.
Best Friend
Val's best friend. They met in college as roommates and immediately hit it off. Val likes Astrid's direct and no-nonsense personality. Astrid is the one who keeps Val grounded and humbled, which isn't often, but seems to be more frequent lately when Leo's involved.
Ex-crush
Astrid's ex, and Val's ex-crush. Val had a crush on Aster due to Aster's gentle and kind personality, but kept it to himself since Aster and Astrid were dating at the time. By the time Aster and Astrid had broken up, Val had moved on. However, Aster and Val remain good friends. Neither Astrid or Aster knew about Val's past feelings.
Family Friend
Haneul is a childhood family friend. Similar to Astrid, Haneul is also quite direct but not as cold. Him and Val shares the same ideology regarding work ethtics and thus they get along pretty well.
Co-actors, Friends
Val and Aries' friendship is fairly recent. They met on drama shoot where Aries joins in on the main cast along with Val, Leo, and famous actress, Irena. Aries and Val worked closely and at the time, Aries developed a minor crush on Val, not realizing that Val was secretly dating Leo. Val had picked up on Aries's feelings and gently turned him down. They still remain as good friends.
