Liv is a sensitive pony who found the burden of his cutie mark too much to bear. His dream was always to work as a guard for Celestia, and was delighted when his cutie mark reflected his proficiency with weaponry. However, actually putting his arms skills to work in the service of the princess, including maiming or killing other ponies just like himself, was far more traumatizing than the lad expected.
Currently he has renounced all duty to the throne, instead choosing to make amends for his former days of slaughter by carefully putting ponies in their final resting positions so their families can remember them fondly when they see them for the last time.
