Sutekh was once a powerful God of Ahn'Imret. He controlled storms and implemented chaos into the world when necessary, but too much power went to his head, and he was cast down by his fellow Guardians to his current state. To suppress his powers to near nothing, a golden ring was placed on his tail that hums softly with holy power. Only a God or someone with equal power to one would be able to break the ring... but because of his infamy across his home, he's shunned and often looked down on by others. Because of his tail ring, he can never be satisfied or feel "complete".  Food, sex, alcohol, drugs... the euphoria of each fades away before he  can enjoy any of it. His only true friend is Alasdair. The two met as Al was exploring, and Sutekh, being himself, fought against him for hours until he finally gave up. Alasdair learned a lot about him during their fight, and for whatever reason, decided to become his friend. Sutekh would never admit to it, but he was grateful someone respected and liked him enough to want to be around him.

He is the muscle and brawn to Al's brains and puzzle-solving capabilities. Sutekh has little patience for most things if it doesn't involve food, fighting or some other vice, but the possibility of treasure, or perhaps a way to break his curse, is what drives him to keep going with Al on his little expeditions. Alasdair has many friends, and most are mutual acquaintances with the beastman rather than full on friends... but so long as they're nice, he doesn't mind. He doesn't seem to like Lunette much, possibly because he doesn't like cats, or maybe because he finds her kindness and loving personality to be a false front. He'd never say this to her face, especially considering she feeds his gluttonous appetite without a complaint.

Wanting to become whole again is his goal, perhaps even redeem himself, but Sutekh is currently content with his life of traveling with his friend. It's rarely boring with Al around, and that's the way he likes his life--full of surprises and far away from people.
