Queen Leta Diamata's Links
A beloved friend and girlhood crush, Alaric is a man so very dear to her. They've grown into honorable allies and their friendship still kindles through occasional visits.
A distant cousin of the crown, Elion is a mystery to her. Chivalrous yet lackadaisical, he is a man many like to have around but few can tolerate for long. Leta included.
Though they've grown distant, Esta does remember vividly their childhood/teenage/young adulthood friendship. They were often at odds as they were polar opposites in terms of personalities and ambitions. Where Leta was raised to be an heir, Esta was just a spare at the time. Which led to her doing many things that conflicted with Leta as it didn't align with how she was raised. She forced her out on many adventures and ones that weren't all that fun in the end. It was a learning experience and it would have been grand if they had continued but after Esta's personal family tragedy occurred she was whisked away and sadly so was their friendship. Both becoming focused on their own nations prospering, while Esta does miss her painfully. she knows they're not on good terms, despite outward appearances. Esta was not there for her on several occasions and she knows it won't be forgotten. As much as she would like to extend an olive branch she feels like it would be rejected. For now they are polite as can be when seen together during court gatherings.
The first wound and, as far as Leta is concerned, the last. A great woman whose death changed a nation and whose shoes are terribly difficult to fill. Leta still struggles with both missing her and trying to replace her, pained to have to. How she wishes she could have her kind word again. In comparison, Leta falls so awfully short of queen.
Her beloved aunt who she's named after. She used to dote on Leta while she still visited. She no longer does. Locked up behind her high castle walls, she's weathered the storm of war far away from enemy lines.
Long dead though not forgotten. Leta grew up on stories of her, of her cruel, early demise and her highly debated rule. How could one forget when she's so often compared to Magna, the ice queen herself. Her most recent ancestor with cryokinesis.
Her grandparents. She never met them, though was weaned on stories of their splendour.
Long dead though not forgotten. Leta grew up on stories of her, of her cruel, early demise and the glorified myth of her fate and missing body. Leta wonders if she is alive - her distant aunt, the forgotten twin rumored to reside 20 feet underground.
An uncle and prisoner she's inherited. They say she aided in the murder of his own twin sisters, a heinous crime unforgivable by kibran law. So Leta keeps his torture in the dark and dank going, pitying him all the while. Never forgetting the visible hole it left on her father to hear of the tragedy, to know his very brother had done it.
Her uncle and trusted royal advisor, as well as treasured diplomat representative of Evarra. He's a bright, wonderful man whenever outside of his uniform, intuitive about when his queen may need him and when his niece does. Able to provide advice to both. Leta finds the smooth transition jarring at times.
An uncle she's barely met before he fled their family, keen on pursuing his own goals in peace at the countryside. She still sets aside a tiny part of money for the duty of bailing him out of jail she inherited from her father.
Her beloved father. A relic of his past self. She rarely sees him lately, two parents gone at the price of one. All he does, she knows he does for her - strengthening her rule yet trying not to enroach on it, and most of all, keeping away so that she may remmeber him as the once brave, vibrant man he wishes to remain at least in her mind. Leta understands, but that does not mean she doesn't yearn for her father still...
