Artemis is a student at Lioncourt School for the Gifted, a once prestigious university for all sorts of magical beings and creatures. While the school itself is in some amount of disrepair due to old age and funding issues, its students are still among the best in the country. Though she hasn't set her sights on a major just yet, she is interested in fashion aspects of the magical world.

Artemis is usually with her best friend, Junebug. They spend most of their time lounging around in Junebug's room. Artemis comes from a somewhat traditional vampire family, but doesn't have any interest in maintaining tradition. She's all about the modern stuff, like blood supplements and actual mattresses.
