Xyston was raised in the beautiful hub of the Azure Palace, exposed to all sorts of wonderful art, music, food, and learning. He found himself drawn to learning a bit of runic magic, as his artistic skills themselves-- despite his great love for the arts-- left something to be desired.
As he aged, Xyston learned to use his runic magic more proficiently; it was only after losing his partner to desert bandits that he honed his powers toward defense. He had seen thieves, bandits, and even dangerous creatures threaten his beautiful home and the incredible inhabitants within it-- so he took it upon himself to defend the Azure Palace hub with both his magic and his brawn, swearing an oath to protect his culture and people, and became a Paladin.

Xyston found Wight wandering through the Azure Palace hub. Though they did not quite wind up as friends, Xyston believes it is part of his duty as a Paladin to help the less fortunate, and-- in Wight's case-- help a lost soul find its way.
Xyston finds Orrow to be a conniving, sneaky thief and distrusts him greatly. Xyston always keeps an eye out around the serpentine keb.
