Profile

Brief overview Wip (just random blurbs I put together for now :"D This is so messy lol...)

"Welcome to the Temple of Dawn. Where the stars will always shine their brightest. No matter what."

Irene and Ira are one Czylph who reside in a massive stone temple that is situated above awaterfall on the highest mountain in their land. They watch over a vast and mountainous region with a decent sized population. Despite the fact they are both "Irene," the residents of their land have identified Irene as the female counterpart and went on to name male Irene, Ira, to differentiate. The people of their land believe they are fraternal twins who take turns ruling when they are really one being who voluntarily go through rebirth to keep reputation and land in balance. They both keep an attentive eye over their region with Irene being the more merciless one whose main interest is to increase territory while Ira is one who focuses on making the land and the people of the land prosper.

"On top of the dry land
My entire body is burning
Your scent that remained on my fingers is scattering away"
- Park, Hyo Shin. "Wild Flower." (4:02)

Irene is a rather stoic Czlyph, maintaining a calm and collected demeanor to all that approach her even when angered. She watches over the land with a critical but more isolated eye, rarely making public appearances. She is a very defensive Czylph who prefers to lock herself in the Temple and kill/heavily injure all those who approach it, whether it be those with offerings or the simply visiting. As such, she is a Czylph warily worshipped and with time, less and lesser of a positive reputation. Irene only lets in individuals that she deems are not easily breakable and are not considered "mortal" as she does not like those that break easily (either she senses their offensive/defensive capabilities or they survive her attacks more or less fully intact when they approach the Temple). Irene is very strict with her governing, such as getting rid of her own residents if they damage her land, even if it causes her reputation to go down. She will do whatever necessary to maintain her region's ecosystem and has repeatedly wiped out her own people whenever she has deemed necessary. And has special punishments for people that have caused major damage to the land (and citizens depending) which usually involves a slow and angonizing death (can be quite gorey). She often makes the vegetation grow out of control, allowing all sorts of plants to cover the Temple with the exception of the platform overlooking the waterfall. Irene only ventures out to defend her land or to conquer which is what she mainly does during her turn in the cycle. The only other place she will visit is a lake on top of a cliff overlooking the sea. She often lays in the lake, surrounded by white flowers while gazing up at the sky.

"A white ice flower that bloomed
Puts its face out in the welcoming wind
It sheds tears over the wordless and nameless past"
- Park, Hyo Shin. "Wild Flower." (0:40)

On the other hand Ira is much more peaceful with his governing, he prefers to venture out of the Temple and visit the people residing on the mountain or in the valleys between the mountains. Ira and Irene aren't very different in terms of personality but while Irene appears more cold, Ira is much more serene and less severe. Due to his less violent deposition, when word of his turn in rule comes out, Ira's reputation will increase as offerings and prayers will grow with shrines that became unused during Irene's rule will soon become frequently in use (as the citizens have learned that close to zero of their offerings/praying are heard when Irene is in power).

"This is your home. Remember? The wind that sings to you, the earth that calls to you, you are a part of it. The land, the sea, the sky. All of it. The world is your home Irene."

The citizens make an annual effort to visit the Temple, keeping a healthy distance from the Temple when they arrive, they will observe the vegetation that typically covers the Temple as when Ira comes into cycle, the vegetation will start receding over 3-5 days at a pace visible to the human eye.

Both of them are quite well-rounded in terms of elemental abilities but Ira has a finer control on his powers and thus is better at healing the ecosystem, helping his land balance itself out. Irene has a more chaotic degree of power, better for defending and conquering as although her power is tightly controlled, it is barely restrained and often very wild (during Irene's reign, there are much more earthquakes, forest fires, etc (increase in natural disasters)). She mainly manipulates water but will use other elements but rarely. She is also rather good at making the weather unpleasant to say the least. Both manipulate and bend light to their will (able to create, solidify, shape).

- can creates light fragments that "shatter/flutter" from her.

- Temple is embedded near the side/top of the mountain, sitting right above the main waterfall.

- They can communicate with each other even though they rarely do so as they do not interferee with each other's governing. The last time they have ever communicated with their other self was when Irene was in power and discovered that their citizens have named her male self Ira, causing Ira to comment on the irony as he is the more peaceful one, whereas Irene would be considered the more "watchful" one.
- They consider themselves as one self even though their "selves" slightly differ.
- Ira does not refer to himself as "Ira," nor does Irene, it is simply what their residents call Irene's male form (and also it's easier to write)

- they contain a small part of Ivair

"I think I’m dreaming
There’s a small door in a blurry landscape
I want to go home

When that door opens
Will there be a road to take me home?"
- Park, Hyo Shin. "Home."
