Background

Not much is known about his past. He lived in Vietnam with a teenager, his girfliend, the only person who accepted his monstruous looking. Muerte liked soccer because his girlfriend loved it too. She thought she was good enough at it to beat a whole team all by herself. She was so obsessed with that idea that time passed and she really  wanted and needed to be best and strongest footballer in all Asia. That was when Muerte started to get scared.

When the girl definitely started to ignore him and yelled him when he was trying to stop her dangerous thoughts, he ran away. Muerte felt despair and lost the very little faith in people after this events after meeting. He managed to move Taiwan where he started to live alone again, until he found an orphanage called Hisō Chimu. This place had some children playing soccer and he felt like looking after them for some weeks. That was how he met Shikaku, but Shikaku did not know him at that time.

Once Shikaku left the orphanage, Muerte tried to indirectly guide him to a ship heading to Japan, and got into it too. Someone had to take care of this kid, after all.

Since season 2 aprox. and on and taking care of Shikaku, they live in a small apartment providen by a family Shikaku met when trying to move around the city.
