Niko Nigauri

Story summary

A deliveryman who never stops smiling - and not by choice - Niko is plagued with the most unfortunate luck in the world. Ever since he was young, his whole life was out to get him, small inconveniences snowballing into accidents and incidents of all sorts just short of complete disaster, as though to mock him. He has become bitter about his existence as a result, and attributes every instance of misfortune to his bad luck. On the very rare occasion things seem to be looking up for him or if others treat him with kindness, he becomes immediately suspicious before being overcome with gratitude.

He's had many part-time jobs over the years of his miserable life, all of them being entry-level service jobs. You can bet that his luck is the main reason he has to keep seeking out new jobs. Because of the customer service orientation of so many of his jobs, he has forced himself to smile and act cheery, and it just stuck forever. He is a middle child with a family who love him because he seems to be a magnet for bad luck, therefore ridding the others of any bad luck they might've had.
