The story of his life is "He lost a bet."  It frequently results in stupid, embarrassing situations... and after graduating college, he still lost a bet at his graduation party and had to kiss the girl he liked.  Awkward Toshiaki tried to kiss her without confessing first, and she — a martial arts practitioner — accidentally sent him off the edge of the roof they were standing on.  He's been in a coma for two years since, and even in the Acadia System continues to lose bets.  His entire ensemble is because he lost a bet to Helia and her prize was redesigning his avatar.  Unfortunately, Sekki loves gambling, and continues to try his luck.

He stays in the Acadia system currently because he doesn't want to wake up and face reality — the girl he is in love with, that threw him off the roof of a building, married his very capable, devil's-own-luck little brother.
