In a fairly popular donut shop in San Francisco,
Don Yatsu Haiku #1:
Delicious donuts
Happiness is munch munch

"………E-E-Ehhhhhh!!????"
This sweet but often dazed little creature has a slight habit of daydreaming as he eats, drawn from dessert to dessert, where in this case he somehow wound up at a donut shop in America when his last moment of awareness was in Shinjuku. It's a strange case of tunnel vision where everything is a blur and all that matters is the pastry or snack in paw and as soon as he's finished consuming it, the next target within range. The problem triples over when the dessert in question is none other than Caramel Sprinkle donuts. Go figure.
Having a rather strong Japanese accent and a very limited knowledge of English, he ends up being known as Don Yatsu when he's really just asking for his favorite food. His true name however is Caramel (キャラメル) or simply, Mel (メル), which may or may not make things worse. In his 'travels' he's discovered the best way to eat donuts is to use his feet as extra support or grip (his feet are generally clean because he often glides to destinations as a preferred way of getting around). It has been very helpful in maximizing consumption, though he still gets crumbs all over his face.
If he's not busy eating sweets, he's learning to bake them in hopes of becoming self sufficient. Still a ways to go before that happens. Until then, it'll probably be snapping out of a daze just in time to avoid getting adopted by a foreign family and spending days being misunderstood completely. All he really wants though is to enjoy donuts at his own leisure.
