Appearance

• Tall. Tall. He’s tall. Like 6'3" compared to Teldryn's 5'10". Softer build.
• This dude fits a lot of hair on his head. When it's down, it reaches to about the bottom of his ribcage, but he usually keeps it in a ponytail.
• Always has prominent eyelashes, (it's the eye makeup he is vain.)
• Freckle under outside corner of right eye.

Summary

Rumare was born to a noble family in Shimmerene and is the eldest of four children. He has a sister named Nurome, who is still studying, a younger brother named Ceridwen, and another brother, Ocandur, who’s still a child. He's close with Nurome, butts heads with Ceridwen, and hasn't met (and might not even know about) Ocandur, as he was born after Rumare left Summerset. 

Rumare studied Restoration and Enchanting extensively and is most adept in these skills, but is familiar with every school of magic, (with the exception of Illusion. He's bad at that.) 

He fled from Shimmerene and traveled to Solstheim in 4E198, after deciding he'd rather be an aprax and have a chance at being happy outside of the Isles, than included in society but forced into a loveless marriage with children he'd have to raise like his parents raised him, then dying and becoming just another link in a chain of ancestors. Wah wah! He chose Solstheim because it's on the opposite side of Tamriel from Summerset, has basically nothing of intrest to outsiders, and no apparent Thalmor presence wink wonk!

Although he planned to keep a low profile doing healing work, Rumare wound up becoming involved in addressing the Ash Spawn threat alongside Teldryn Sero. They find they work well together, and spend the next year and a half or so doing various jobs around Raven Rock and the surrounding area, including reopening the mine. After Very Dramatic Events (please play Teldryn Serious mod it is good and I like it and you can hug Teldryn), they decide "Hey Solstheim? Sucks." and travel to Skyrim and fuck around there for a while. Also they are gay and in love............Wind up getting good at killing vampires, and are contracted by the Dawnguard in 4E200. THUS BEGINS THE QUESTLINE

Rumare becomes a Vampire so he can enter the Soul Cairn with Serana, and learned he was Dragonborn after he, Valerica, and Serana fought Durnheviir. It has been quite the day for Rumare. He is not taking it well! During the attack on Fort Dawnguard he, Serana, and Teldryn literally run into Andriel and Ronthil, and there's a brief standoff before Serana and Andriel recognize each other and everyone backs off so Team Dawnguard can go kill Serana's Dad and Team Staying-Out-Of-Shit can Stay Out Of Shit.

After another year passes, THE MAIN QUESTLINE BEGINS in 4E201, and Rumare is called to High Hrothgar alongside Ilya and Kria. They have some fun and wacky adventures and eventually kill a time god! Also, during this time, they go on a field trip to Winterhold looking for info about the Elder Scrolls and Andriel cures Rumare of vampirisim! (The two actually discussed it before in the interim between questlines, but Rumare was too skeeved out by the necessity of a filled black soul gem [its the Soul Cairn Trauma]. UNTIL HE MET RULINDIL.) And thus ends 4E202!

Miraak causes problems on purpose in 4E203 and the Dragonbros almost die, like really super almost die, which is bad, but Teldryn and Rumare get married, which is good! So overall it's an okay year!

Eventually Rumare n Teldryn settle down in Solitude but still get into mischief. See friends often. Maybe Rumare tutors kid or something but pabably too freaked by idea of parenting to adopt. Good times!

Rumare is somewhat naive, cautiously optimistic and friendly, and is no good at hiding emotions. Feels deeply! He can be flighty, but is much less so by the end of Dawnguard. His first instinct is to deflect and avoid conflict, even though he was raised to be intimidating. Rumare tends towards being over-accommodating and people-pleasing. However, he does rankle under rigid authority and will often become belligerent. If it’s clear that being disruptive won’t help him, he becomes resigned and sullen.

Facts

• About a century old, late 20s/early 30s in human years.
• He's trans like me :-) Uses his Restoration magjicks to do hormone witchcraft. It's okay Todd Howard said he could!
• Likes being clean and looking nice. Takes pride especially in his hair and eyelashes.
• Before he left Shimmerene he was an Enchanter, and a really damn good one cause it must be competitive out there.
• Chose his name because it was when he was traveling through the Imperial City that he first felt able to assert himself n make sure people referred to him with the right pronouns. King!
• Gets along really well with and is friends with Serana, but they don't stick together after Dawnguard because it's a very Emotionally Loaded time and their respective Family Problems make it hard for them to interact without exacerbating bad feelings. After they get Fantasy Therapy or whatever they hang out more!
