Ramona grew up in Laverre City, home to a fairy-type Pokemon gym. Her entire childhood she was surrounded by cute Pokemon and cute clothes, as the residents of Laverre are know for their unique sense of style and highly sought after boutique items. As the daughter of the Pokemart's proprietor she was known by all in town and often ran wild around the city, getting dirty in the gardens and looking for wild Pokemon, despite not being a trainer herself. After much begging on her part, Ramona's parents finally sent their oddball daughter to start her Pokemon journey at the age of twelve. The quirky teen prefers to dress in boy's hoodies and is a tomboy, leaving her hair mostly untamed and having no interest in the makeup or Pokedolls like the other girls her age. Though she is naive in some respects she is precocious enough to learn quickly from her mistakes and do well as a Pokemon trainer. She likes bug Pokemon, because many people don't like them. She also likes water and electric Pokemon. How cute a Pokemon doesn't usually matter to her, she would like any Pokemon that she made a bond with. Though the other children often saw her as aloof, it was really only that they did not share interests with her so she avoided them. In truth, Ramona is a sweet girl who can be helpful to others if she likes them, but if someone hurts her she will hold a grudge for a long time.
