Lykos is the taller of the fraternal twins and his build is more muscular than his brother's, though he still retains a slimness that belies their relation. He has the exact same amber eyes as his brother, which is often remarked upon, though his hair is a darker brown than Emerus' and curly. His face is broad and his skin tans easily. He often smiles with straight white teeth.

The more outgoing of the twins, Lykos makes friends easily and can make the best of a bad social situation. His exile has made him wise in the ways of the world, as he would not have survived otherwise. He experiences some self doubt, but overall is confident. As a child he was incredibly protective of his slightly younger brother and did his best to shield him from anything negative and steered the ship, so to speak, in social situations and gatherings that they were required to attend due to their nobility. Lykos struggles with being alone, preferring to surround himself with people at all times, which has often been difficult during his exile. It is also possible for him to get too attached to someone, and he has lost friends by being too overbearing, though that was never a problem with his brother. He has a love for cooking, learning how after almost poisoning himself after he was exiled, and enjoys literature like his brother.

For most of his childhood Lykos' life was defined by his brother, and he was absolutely okay with that. His love for his twin is something that he has never questioned, and he would do anything for Emerus. Lykos enjoyed the life of a noble, with tutors to educate him and answer his questions and parties to attend with friends to make. Unlike his brother he had many connections away from his sibling, even though he was still closest to his twin. When he discovered he was a shifter and began to learn to use his power he loved the experience, and often snuck away from his family's home as a wolf. Unfortunately, he was tracked by a hunter one evening when he was 14, and was forced to reveal himself or take an arrow to the heart. A friend of his family's, the hunter returned him to his parents and their judgement. They took mercy on their son and did not turn him in to the high wizard, instead telling him to leave the kingdom with the threat of death upon his return at the hands of knights. Though more skilled with weapons than his brother, Lykos was not skilled enough to take on a true warrior.

For years he traveled through other kingdoms, often as a wolf because the anonymity it afforded him, learning and maturing. He made many friends in the short term, but was afraid to build relationships with them lest they discover his secret. He loves his wolf self, and is upset that he cannot share it with his friends. A few short lived romances occurred in his teens, with both men and women, but Lykos felt his was cheating on them by lying about his true nature and was the one to end all of them. He knew this hurt people, and did his best to avoid romantic entanglements after those. More and more he missed his twin, worrying and wondering about his fate and hoping that his much more unique shift had not been discovered. Eventually he knew that he must return to his brother, at the very least to take him away and make a new life
