the light sort of deters enemies and acts as a shield in a way. stands cant penetrate the barrier but people can (thats the funky bit bcs its so simple yet nobody fucking TRIES THAT LIKE EVER). obviously stands can only be defeated by other stands, but stand USERS can go for the other user, which will make it harder for them to target you with their stand
the way to attack kingdom of heaven is from behind, whereas never ending nightmare is from the front

pros: long range, protects the user and can be used to assist others
