- Gavin is a transsexual, meaning he has undergone a sex change, he doesn't talk about this part of history. The information about him exists in private archives but he isn't openly talking talking about it. Especially not as his workplace.
- Before Gavin transitioned, he had been married to another scientist named Rupert Lindell but their marriage fell apart after Gavin brought up his gender identity and desire to transition to male. Rupert was not in support and reacted with bigotry, stating his general distaste for people changing their original biology.Â
- Gavin is the creator of Laurence and is a high-ranking scientist in the artificial intelligence and android design development field. He's created various kinds of androids meant for different tasks for 20 years of his life. Laurence was his first and most prized android he has created. Laurence is also his most advanced android, undergoing various upgrades over the years to reach where he is now.Â
- Gavin and Laurence have a best friend like relationship and are often helping each other around Gavin's underground lab.Â
- Robert has a small crush on Gavin, whom he looks up to and learned how to make his first android (Richard) through Gavin's published handbook for creating humanoid and anima androids. Â
- When he is not working on fixing up his android projects, he is tinkering around on spaceships and retro automobiles he's had passed down to him from his family over the generations. He's a big vintage automobile and motorbike collector. Â
- He has a very high pain tolerance and tends to not react much when he gets hurt, this is partially due to excessive experimenting on himself and damaging a lot of nerves.
- Gavin hates sweets and any of his drinks sweetened. Sometimes Laurence plays pranks on him and puts several teaspoons of sugar in his tea, which Gavin then promptly spits out in the sink in disgust.
- Favors bitter flavor and drinks wormwood tea like it's soda. Laurence finds this disgusting and hates bitter flavors with a passion.

Laurence
[ Son/Creation ] His personal and combat android, he developed his AI over the years and eventually gave him a physical body to do tasks outside of his facility. Laurence and Leigh have a father/son relationship just with less emotions and more professionalism. Laurence refers to him both as 'Father' and by his last name 'Davies'.Â
Robert Jenkins
[ Colleague & Good Friend ] Mutual admirers of each other's work and colleagues, they often work in the labs together and combine their projects. They strive for the same goal with their research. Outside of work they also will occasionally spend time together. Carl sometimes pokes fun at them calling them 'lovers' though Leigh denies it strongly (since he's closeted about his sexuality)Â and refers to Robert simply as a good friend of his and a wonderful scientist.Â
