Hickory's a sad man on his last legs - literally. His arms broken off, legs crackled, and tail no longer much more than a few tufts, there isn't much holding him down. He has difficulty functioning, so he needs someone to help with a lot of things. Although he does have a set of arms made from energy, he whines about disliking using them and that they "hurt" although there's no reason for this. When he uses them, they have a tendency to bug out slightly and appear unstable, but no one's really sure why. Hickory's been in a poor state of mind ever since the death of his wife. Even the slightest reminder of her will cause big tears to well up in his eyes. Despite her visiting him often as a ghost, it doesn't seem to be enough for him. Although clearly in distress, he'll constantly insist that he's fine, it's fine, everything is fine. Those who care about him fear that without his helper, he might just drift into lonely insanity. Quite a few years ago he was captured by a mysterious group who though he was someone they were looking for. They insisted on beating him up until he admitted he was this person (aka, breaking most of his glass), but they finally realized that they had the wrong guy. Frazzled, they held onto him until the dude there were actually looking for came with a small group of people and destroyed their place, freeing Hickory in the process. Because of this experience, he's developed a fear of not being able to move around freely, whether that be trapped in a cell, tied up, pinned down, or etc. He's a nice guy and could be called gentle, more so since his experience. Doesn't want to anger of hurt anyone and will fully take the blame for anything he's done without excuse. Although he smiles often, it's mainly forced at this point as he tries to look like he's in perfect health. Occasionally refers to himself as 'old an senile' because...well....
