personality/backstory suggestions:
- they run a small farm with their partner
- they DEFINITELY take in any stray cat they see
- they like to sew and knit
my ideas:
- demiguy (he/they) bisexual // 9 years old
- no one knows who his parents are.. he was born in the boarder of Ice Kingdom and Sandwing Kingdom. and he was raised by one of Blaze's soliders, and. that's all he knows. hm hm.
- his back is soft with fur, but his head and neck are full of spikes
- pretty warm, making his ice breath.. kinda useless. it works but it looks like ice spray rather than actuall deadly ice breath. it's still cold, but not as cold as real IceWings breath.
- he learned how to knit blankets and stuff, to keep others warm at the boarder with Ice Kingdom
- when the war ended, he first travelled to the Scorpion Den and then to Possibility, where he was selling his knittings for living, and eventually got an actuall house with small garden
- visited Rainforest Kingdom once, to see any rare plants, and there he meet Glassfish
- Blance helped her escaping and finding safe place in Possibility with him
- they eventually fell in love, smooch
- turns out he is both an Animus and Glacier's son (probably with Blaze, because screw logic, which one is trans is a mystery)
But getting to the character, Blance (he/they) was born (er hatched?) under confusing circumstances, almost 8 years before the War ends. Neither Glacier, let alone Blaze, were prepared for this, since their relationship was rather... secret, due to how IceWings were in general. Not homophobic, just not as open towards other tribes. So, stuff happened and they got stuck with an egg.
Blaze took it, but dunked it on her soldiers that were in her fortress to raise, with the rule of never telling the dragonet about its real parents. Not because she didn't wanted it. She just knew that if dragons outside found out about its real parents, Burn will learn about it too. And it was possibly the worst thing that could happen, knowing Burn's.... interest in unusual dragons. This, or Burn or Blister using the dragonet to force Blaze to forfeit her right to the throne.
So Blance was raised by one of the SandWing soldiers. Some considered training him, to make him later join the fights, but Blaze strongly voiced against it. He wasn't as sick or weak, he had the barb (with bonus spike on it) and strong venom, but his ice breath was quite.. weak, due to his body temperature (too high to make the ice breath consistent and freezing enough). They did taught him how to self-defense, but Blance was kept more behind, in general safety and secrecy. The fortress was always cold, and even if he didn't felt that, he wanted to be usefull and was helping in knitting and sewing the carpets and covers. This of course made him see Blaze pretty often, which made her feel really awkward.. but well, he didn't Know. He also did see Glacier few times (and she did too.. you know, to make sure it's... hers and alive).
And they carried on, and after the war.. well, Blance was free to go. Blaze did let him go, very hesitantly, but she couldn't just tell him now. As a hybrid he didn't had too easy, but settled down in Possibility. While years in sort-of isolation severed his ability to interact with other dragons, he didn't had the worst. Made off money from sewing and knitting services, got actual, small but small, house. Eventually met Glassfish, and fell in love with each other. Everything seemed normal.
Except it wasn't.
You know, there were dragons that thought he looked eerily familiar, especially in Winter's eyes (since he knew Glacier most and closest). And then Darkstalker returns, plague happens (but of course, hybrids were unaffected?) and yadda yadda. Blance eventually did learned who his parents are (IDK HOW. But I will get to it... eventually) and felt.. really weird about that. Not because he have two moms now, but more like.. it makes him a royality, some sort. And he have half-siblings now! And it's just weird.
And yeah, Blance is (now) 9 years old, while Snowfall is.. 7? And I'm pretty sure she have a sister. Glacier was kind of pressured to have an actuall heir, so it was really one-off-time thing (maybe two. Look, I don't know how old is Snowfall's sister.). And in the clutch there was Snowfall and some other eggs, that did or didn't make it. Glacier doesn't care at this point about their other parent, she have Blaze now.
Also I turned him into secret Animus. Maybe it was carried from Blaze side, who knows (or Glacier's, because IceWings are just weird). Did he kept that after the Third Arc, or he lost it too? I'm not sure! I will decide after the Third Book, how to fuck up it more.
