Ves has suffered all his life from seizures accompanied by strange visions of the future. His visions always show important and imminent life changing events of those physically near him, whether they be something positive, like a romantic first meeting between two people that may as well be something straight out of a rom com, or something negative, like death or a life-threatening illness. His parents, both doctors, are stumped by his epilepsy and the fact that no treatments have helped so far.

Due to his medical issues, Ves has been very sheltered and naïve and has been homeschooled his entire life. At the very least, the constant seizures and visions of often terrible things happening don’t seem to have effected him much emotionally, as he tends to have a rather positive and optimistic outlook towards life. He’s also rather polite, charming, and friendly.

He is particularly knowledgable about plants, medicine making, and healing magic, and stores information about all of those things (as well as diary entries and his sister’s doodles) in the giant tome he carries around everywhere. He’s also a pretty good artist, at least when it comes to drawing plants realistically - he doesn’t tend to draw much of anything else.

As a last ditch effort to help Ves, his family moved from the capital city of Argent to a more remote part of Aurillys, the island village of Amorthes. Since being around people who keep having major things happen to them seems to be what triggers his visions/seizures, they figured it’d be better to take him somewhere where the population is small and not much happens. Or at the very least, they were hoping it would be less eventful.
