Personality

Purple Spinel is incredibly cynical, bitter and upset. Although… she’s only really able to express these feelings in jokes. She’s only able to express any feelings through jokes. Many find it either charming, or really distasteful.

She can’t help it, though. That’s who she is, what she was made to be. A comedian. Someone to bring joy to others, no matter what ‘frivolous nonsense’ she’s going through.

Abilities

ALL OF SPINEL AND GEM POWERS YEAH...

History

Purple Spinel was created the instant the rebellion became a threat, to, well… boost the morale of the soldiers that were pitted against them. Think of her as a USO girl, an entertainer and encourager for those who were at all worried the rebels might get the better of them and the Diamond Authority.

She did acts by herself (with great help from her elasticity and speed) that were comedic above all else. Light-hearted little diddies about how great the armies and diamonds were- and how loathsome the rebels were.

Spinel did these shows daily, and despite her not caring much for them herself, it was any of her life spent after them that she grew to hate.

She was considered much less a regular gem, and simply a parody, a walking form of her acts. She made comrades and companions easily with her sense of humor, but they never seemed to take her very seriously… at all. Even when she tried her best to be.

She was getting… so tired of just being everyone’s go-to clown. Even when she had problems herself, they were mocked because of her inability to express them in any way other than jokes. This issue itself was starting to eat away at her.

On stage and off, Spinel’s acts began getting increasingly morbid, to the point that even her most faithful fans were getting uncomfortable watching her. She used dry and bitter humor, often making all-too-casual jokes about shattering, and almost even cracked herself on stage going too far with a joke.

As the war died down, and supposedly the diamonds had taken care of the fearsome Rose Quartz and her rebellion for what she had done, Spinel’s fans faded away too. She had no more material, and because of that, no more friends. Her jokes had taken an inward turn and become more and more self-deprecating. She had run dry.

For now, she wandered homeworld, hoping to bring joy to someone again… particularly, to herself. If she can ever figure out how to.

TL;DR: sad comedian becomes even sadder.
