Valour

Valour is cheery and optimistic, and has the same energy as a giant puppy. He's sometimes a bit airheaded and reckless, and gets ahead of himself, but he's normally innocent and wellmeaning in anything he decides to do. He places a lot of importance on loyalty- both for himself, and what he expects from others, and despite giving anyone and everyone a chance- he's been failed by a lot of people. 

Despite his size, he has a ton of energy and can be very naiive- often confusing people who expect him to be more of a brute or more serious. Despite this nature, he's very crafty and good at avoiding traps and obstacles, along with being very adaptable-especially under pressure. He can usually weasel his way out of any problems he finds himself in, which is great- since he likes scouring ancient ruins for old loot to sell off to knowledge seekers. Though this does afford him a somewhat comfortable lifestyle- it's just as much for the fun of it and because he wants to see what this knowledge brings people.

He typically wears an air of confidence- especially as he's gotten older, but he's easily spurned if people are mean or cruel to him, and can get in pouty moods when this happens. He will gladly defend the things he loves- but would prefer to avoid fights wherever he can. 

Towards those who are less experienced or younger, he can easily take on a fatherly role- as he enjoys helping and teaching others, even if he probably wouldn't admit it and would get sheepish if it was pointed out.

Valour never knew his family, wandering from place to place as an orphan. He eventually took up travelling with a group of mercenaries as a young teen- who taught him everything he knows. Including survival and fighting tactics..and how to "look tough" (in his words). He went his own way in his later teens, making friends and wandering all sorts of places in pursuit of family and somewhere he really felt like he fit in. However; he never really did. He was shipped off across the sea by his mother shortly after his birth, when she decided he wouldn't be safe with his family due to being a challenge to his father's leadership. In this new country, he could never escape the fact he didn't look like the people there- he didn't act like them, and he excelled in things they didn't really understand thanks to his double spade markings. He was also unfortunately -betrayed by many of the people he called friends. This made him hesitant to open up to a lot of people more. Even if he'd still give them the chance- upgrading from 'passing friend' (of which he had many) to "True friend" became more and more rare as he grew older.

He traveled much, but eventually ended up in a trader's town on the coast, setting up a small shop and exploring the local ruins. He set about trying to help the town overcome a terrible new queen who established a tyrannical dictatorship over the people. Though while he was there he kept lines open to try and listen for people traveling through who may recognize someone like himself. Wanting to find his way home-and potentially his family someday, if only to find closure even if he decided he didn't like them. His wishes were answered unexpected, when after a decade of living in this place- someone very...very similar walked up the docks.

He was thrilled to meet his twin sister- who he never knew he had, and set about trying to establish a relationship with her. Wanting to make up for lost time and learn about his true identity. He mostly wanted answers- but found a good friend, since Myra shares many of his same principles, and even prolonged distance couldn't ruin the bond they quickly developed as siblings who should have grown up together. Though Myra only tolerated him at first- he eventually grew on her and found his own place among her family- including her husband and his nieces and nephews.
