Profile

α Personality α
Markus is cold, blunt, and doesn't care much for others. He often does things only for personal gain and only became a PreCure because he knew it could make him stronger. He is very hot-headed and would go so far as to attack his teammates if it leads to victory. He can be supportive, but only if he gets something in return. Even though he is cold on the outside, he is caring to some extent. Mostly towards his roommate and childhood friend, Koharu. He doesn't really trust people who haven't helped him in some way, so he doesn't really bother with meeting people unless it is absolutely necessary.

α Backstory α
Born in Düsseldorf, Germany to a German mother and Japanese father and raised in Okayama, Japan; Markus Nishimoto was an adorable, blond-haired baby boy. That seemed to be a good thing until he was sent off to elementary school. His tall stature and square features ended up having students see him as a monster. That coupled with his relative silence in school gave him the nickname "Gaijin Gorilla". Every day for that first week, he went to his parents in tears, until his mother said to him, "Markus. They gave you a nickname, maybe they're playing pretend."

'Playing pretend.' He thought, 'Maybe I should play pretend with them.' This didn't work out as well as he thought, however, since this just scared the kids more and kept him further away. All except for a little recently-orphaned green-haired girl named Koharu Hoshizora. Koharu liked how Markus looked, she thought he was funny. Instead of taking that as an insult, Markus befriended Koharu and did all he could to help her figure things out, protect her from bullies, and maintain a strong, sibling-like bond.

Even though Markus thought of the little green girl as the sister he never had, she was a rambunctious little rascal and often pulled pranks on him. Even though this angered him, they usually made up shortly after. This bond grew even stronger once, through a mysterious incident, Koharu’s parents and little brother disappeared from the face of the earth, prompting Markus’ parents to adopt the little green-haired girl.

Markus’ mother loved Koharu to death and once she got a daughter like she always wanted, she decided to start punishing Markus for being a boy and doing stereotypically masculine things like having an interest in martial arts, lifting weights, and eating red meat, even though she did those things herself.

In his third year of elementary school, Markus' father started teaching him the basics of the Viking martial art, Glima in secret to get past the mother's ways. This training and his meat-heavy diet lead him to enter his school's Judo club in middle school, gain muscle, and start his quest for learning grappling-based martial arts.

Throughout middle and high school, Markus and Koharu were seen as a demented witch and her giant monster companion, despite Markus being able to speak quite eloquently. Nevertheless, since he was with Koharu, the two were seen as outcasts to the rest of the students, distancing him from friendship with others even more.

Starting high school, he decided to remedy this problem by joining the martial arts club. Only male students attended the club except for one, an extreme tomboy named Mizuki Mizuno. Known only as “Mizuno” by Markus, the two started off on bad terms. Markus saw her as no different from his mother, so he always wanted to spar with her to vent out his frustrations. This excited Mizuki because she saw this as the strange blond letting out romantic feelings that he didn’t know how to express without fighting.

At age eighteen, Markus decided to rent an apartment with his parents' permission and live with Koharu through university. With an athletic scholarship in martial arts, he was able to get into a pretty decent university. He still has to deal with Koharu's pranks and love of junk food, but hey, at least she helps pay rent.
