Mischievous | Sly | Headstrong | Kind-Hearted

Mischievous Most who know him would describe his character in one word: “troublemaker.” Perhaps it’s the nature of his magic that compels him to engage in such mischievous behavior, or simply the fact of his youth in comparison to most of the other beings - whatever the reason, he values his prowess as a trickster and could probably become a highly successful conman. But his pranks are never malicious; they’re the type to minorly inconvenience their victim and produce laughs from anyone close enough to witness them, but he would never intentionally hurt anybody or destroy something of high value.

Sly This jester persona extends into most of his demeanor. He’s almost always wearing a cryptic smile with a shine in his eyes that tells you he’s already planning his next scheme. Mystic is the kind of person who could distract someone with one hand and then steal their wallet with the other - not that he would use his talents in such nefarious ways, but he’s certainly been known to swipe a key or two for the sweets pantry (or the magical relics armory). An entire childhood spent acquiring things that his supervisors don’t want him acquiring has made him quite resourceful, and unconventional problem-solving is surprisingly one of his primary non-magical skills.

Headstrong The higher Court members learned early on that reverse psychology was one of the best methods to get Mystic to actually perform his duties. Telling the young Arbiter that he can’t do something is a near sure-fire way to trick the trickster into getting the job done. Likewise, nagging or scolding him over a task will usually make him less likely to do whatever is being nagged about, even if he had already been planning to do it before. The one positive to this negative trait is that he’s not one to give up on something he’s set his mind to, no matter how difficult or hopeless it may seem to anyone else.

Kind-Hearted All in all, this trickster has a good heart that wants to spread joy and laughter wherever he can. Because according to him, if people are laughing, then they won’t have time to think about anything that would make them sad. He might not be directly sympathetic, but should he notice someone in despair, he would try to make them laugh or distract them with something fun. He also loves children (likely because he’s basically one of them mentally) and can often be found with the city kids when he’s somewhere slacking off from his duties.
