Nami Hirata

Nami Hirata, also known as the Capsule Hero: Gacha, is a student in Class 1-B at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro-Hero.

Appearance

Nami stands at a short stature of 5'3", compared to most of her classmates. She has pale skin and white hair with blue accents at the ends, which she shapes up into two space buns at the top of her bed to the left and right sides of her head. Her hair is normally covered with different shapes of barretts, except when in her hero costume which they're replaced with ribbons tied into her buns. Her eyes are a soft purple color and lack a pupil. When wearing a casual outfit, her style always seems to be that of a cutesy, harajuku fashion.

Personality

Getting to know and get close to Nami isn't hard at all, as she's a very...simple girl. She loves to have fun and be entertained always, having a habit of getting bored incredibly easily. Especially when it comes to things such as having to study or do chores. Sitting still, having to sit in silence, or having to do anything serious, other than hero work/training, leads her to become visibly bored over it, procrastinating a majority of the time. It doesn't help that she isn't the brightest bulb in the school...in fact she's probably a broken bulb in the box, rather than just being dim (getting into UA by the skin of her teeth). But that isn't to say she doesn't try her hardest or take it seriously, whether it comes to school work or training, she just struggles a bit more than others. When it comes to people, she is very sociable and loves to talk...a lot. So be prepared to always have something to talk about or never a quiet moment with her around.

Just like any other teenage girl, Nami has a habit of having a crush....well, actually a lot of them. She can easily be swept up in thinking someone is attractive, boy or girl, and gets carried away in her feelings and thoughts of said people. And when in the presence of someone she finds attractive, Nami can easily become overwhelmed and flustered, easily blushing and stumbling over her words a lot of the time if she isnt careful. This is perhaps the only time when she is unsure of what to say or do.

She's a caring friend to those that get close to her, but she wouldn't be one to go to with advice, as many things go over her head easily. But she's good for emotional support! Despite her shortcomings, she does her best in training and in classes, having a good deal of determination to make up for her other faults. She knows she isn't the best but is always willing to put her best foot forward and try.

History

Nami was born to Kyouya and Kiko Hirata in the early hours of a September morning. However, her birth wasn't an easy one, filled with many complications that unfortunately her mother's body couldn't handle, and she passed shortly after Nami was brought into the world. Despite this, none of Nami's family ever made her feel at fault for the unforseeable event. In fact, Nami grew up feeling very loved by the people around her. From the moment she was born, even through his grief, Kyouya showered his daughter with love and affection. He was ecstatic to have a child, though he always mourned the loss of his wife. However, he felt there was still a piece of her there with Nami and made sure to never forget that.

Despite the family's rocky beginning, Nami's childhood was fairly normal with nothing different to report. She went to school, she struggled academically, she hung out with friends, she grew up. Her father worked hard to support the two of them and Nami had an incredibly close bond with him, the two of them practically being best friends as well as father and daughter. There was never a bad memory she had of her dad. One of her best memories was the night her quirk made its appearance. Her father had been ecstatic and the two had spent hours seeing what she could do with it. As little as a quirk it was, her father made her feel as if she could do great things with it and made her feel proud of herself.

This made it all the harder when her father died tragically in an accident at the beginning of her middle school years.

His death was a major impact to Nami, causing her to shut down for quite some time afterwards, even as she made the move from her childhood home to live with her grandparents. She loved her grandparents and appreciated them taking her in, but losing her dad had been a curveball she had never been expecting and it hurt far worse than anything she had felt before. She wasn't alone in her grief, her grandparents and friends comforting her and being there for her the entire time, and after a few months, Nami began to open back up and pick herself back up. Deciding that her father wouldn't want her to stop moving forward because of his passing. He'd want her to continue to be happy and do great things, so she would. She went back into school and her life, ready to try and move forward. Though, this caused her to pick up a bad habit of hiding her emotions. While she does try to move forward, smile, and say she's great, her father's death would be a continuous sore spot for her for a long time.

Nami continued back into school and genuinely started to do better, though of course she still struggled as she always did, but she did her best! Her middle school years flew by and before she knew it, it was time to pick high schools. Nami already knew what she wanted to do and where she wanted to go. In her father's memory, to make him proud, and to protect others, Nami had her sights set on the hero academies! Though Shiketsu was her first choice, UA being her second. This ended up working well for her, as she failed the entrance exam for Shiketsu miserably. However, before her exam at UA, she practically begged her quirk to give her something useful to help her study for UA's exam. This resulted in a gachapon ball with a study cheat sheet, but with only enough information for her to pass by the barest of marks. She sindged it into her memories and was able to pass the written portion by the skin of her teeth. The physical portion of the exam gave her quite a bit of trouble, struggling hard but again, being able to pass with the smallest margin of marks.

The night she received her acceptance letter, her and her grandparents celebrated, and she placed the acceptance device next to her father's portrait on his shrine, where it remains now.

Before she knew it, her first day at UA came and she was placed into the class of 1-B, under the watchful eye of the Pro-Hero Vlad King. A mountain of a man who intimidated her for a short time before realizing he reminded her quite a lot of her dad. From that point on, she felt a new sense of drive to do her best (even if academically she was probably toast). She settled herself into the class quite easily and found a great deal of companionship in her classmates and strives alongside them all to become the best Pro-Hero she can be.

Abilities

Quirk

Gachapon: Nami's quirk resembles that of a Gachapon vending machine. She can pop out a variety of gachapon capsules from her hands and use its contents for the situation at hand. The capsules can vary in three sizes of small, medium, and large ones. She can only use a certain amount in a time frame, about 30, the amount varying based on the sizes. Smaller Capsules = 1 count, Medium Capsules = 3 count, and Large Capsules = 5 count. Once she hits her cap, it takes a few hours before she can summon more.

The capsules themselves can contain anything, even Nami not knowing what it can contain, reacting to her focusing on a specific type/group of what is needed. EX. Focusing on something liquid can produce water, oil, soda, etc. Focusing on a writing utensil can produce a pencil, a pen, a paint brush, etc. And so on. The larger of an item she needs, the bigger of a capsule she makes. The bigger the capsule, the longer it takes to create it. Somehow, Nami always does end up receiving a useful item, however its only just barely useful to get the job done, causing her to have to be creative with the item given.

AKA, she's given what she needs, never what she wants.

Relationships

Family

Kyouya Hirata: Nami's father. The two were incredibly close, having an amazing relationship until the day he died, basically being best friends. Having raised Nami alone, he did whatever he could to give his daughter the life he felt she deserved and adored her to pieces, Nami can't ever remember a bad moment with her father. His death was a major tragedy in Nami's life and still affects her even to this day. Even though she tries to be strong and smile and say she's fine, sometimes his loss hits her hard.

Kiko Hirata: Nami's mother. Nami knows only about her mother from stories her dad had told her, as her mother died giving birth to her. From what she knows, her mother was a very kind and considerate woman who loved to have fun and had been so excited when she had gotten pregnant with Nami.

Daisuke Hirata: Nami's grandfather. A kind man but not without his stern side. He cares for his granddaughter and jsut like her father tries to push her and encourage her to do her best. He's worried about her becoming a Pro-Hero but knows its not something he can talk her out of. Though he is very protective of her.

Himari Hirata: Nami's grandmother.

UA High School

Suiki Ude: 1-B classmate alongside being her arcade buddy after school and fellow dumbass pal~ Upon meeting him she developed her trademark crush on him and he's become a good and close friend of hers since then. His no filter doesnt bother her in the slightst (most times because things he says goes over her head) and she supports him on everything, and she always has a fun time with him, never a boring moment which is great in her book! He's also a great help to her in her studies, tutoring her pretty much all the time because of her struggles academically, and is just as protective of him as he is with her.

Pro-Heroes

Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head): He scares her. Avoids at all costs.

Sekijiro Kan (Vlad King): Her homeroom teacher. Nami was a little intimidated by him at first but learned really fast how amazing of a teacher and person he is. A lot of his personality reminds her of her father, which helps keep her motivation high and working hard in the class. She has a great deal of repsect for him.
