Intro
Holder of a Minor Crest, the Ó Coileáin's are the descendants of a dead house. Though the original importance of her bloodline has been lost to time, Meryl is driven to restore glory to her family name from a very young age. She feels compelled to make something of her lost house, to regain it's presumed prestige, quickly becoming less of a personal ambition and more of an obsession.
A commoner, she's admitted into the academy on merit and a partial sponsorship. Although rambunctious and bushy tailed, Meryl is anything but unfocused on her goals. She struggles to seperate her worth as an individual from the worth she's convinced that comes with bloodline- believing that the only way to make her family proud is by giving them a title of nobility that no one is asking for.

Notes
- Farmers tan to the extreme. Freckles when she gets too much sun.
- Pre-timeskip, her hair reaches down to her lower waist. She keeps her bangs pinned out of her face with a small barrette
- Post-timeskip, she chops her hair off to just reach her shoulders. Again, she keeps her bangs pinned out of her face with a small barrette
- There are a few patches of freckles on her cheeks and nose, but LOTS on her arms. Has a liiiittle bit of muscle in her bicepts but she flexs enough about it you'd think she's in the strongman regionals.
spunky, ambitious, impulsive, undaunted, foolhardy, hardheaded. (I'll get around to this when I'm not feeling so lazy rip)
Meryl is the fourth of five children and the youngest girl of the Ó Coileáin household. She was born in the southeast farmlands of Faerghus, where the Holy Kingdom borders Leicester territory. Somewhat reputable, if only locally, much of the family's income relied on their trade of horse-mastery and a specialty in the breaking of Pegasus colts. Though far from wealthy, Meryl's childhood was comfortable: hot food for dinner, hand-stitched dresses for spring, and a work ethic ingrained into her brain since she'd been old enough to walk. And while her family was content with the slow pace of country living, Meryl wanted for more.
Raised on old stories regaled by her former knight father, Meryl has fallen victim to glory-seeking since her time in diapers. Tales of his (mostly embellished) adventures, and of her mother's once noble linage, drives the girl's desire for more. Furthered by being the only living crest bearer of the Ó Coileáin bloodline, Meryl feels responsible to make something of herself, and her family. She’s disinterested in the prospects of courtship and nobility through marriage and strives to achieve it on her own through merit.
