Personality

Gayle is caring and straightforward. He's never had to be anything other than a shopkeeper/blacksmith and father and is polite to everyone he meets, knowing that any person could be a potential customer. He is patient and takes things one step at a time, though this can leave opportunities to pass by without him noticing. Gayle becomes nervous around men he finds attractive and doesn't know how to react, especially when they flirt with him. 

Relationships

Os and Wally Minot - Gayles' twin sons. He has spent his entire life trying to do everything he can to support his kids in whatever they hope to do. They, in turn, worry about him now that he has split from their mother and make sure to always keep in contact to see how he's doing.

i haven't named her Gayles' ex-wife. They are still on good terms after separating. She just realised that, although they made the right decision for their children, they maybe shouldn't have rushed into things. He still cares for her deeply but realises that he never truly loved her as anything more than a close friend.
