Lenka

Lenka was a sailor, and her job was to be the navigator. She had an obsession with adventure and exploration, and believed the only way to get that goal was to go on a ship. She didn't really know anyone before she became a sailor, or knew much of the world at all- she did her work without pay, but she didn't need it. She had a home, and was fed well. She knew more people than ever!

Those people did manipulate her, though, only placating her so she would do their dirty work for them. Unaware of this, she continued her duty.

But with her job came her love for stars.

She heard of the tales of great adventureres using the north star to guide them home, and so she studied them, and in her studies, she heard the story of the Star Pirates- pirates who sailed not by the sea, but by the night sky, riding on the galaxies and constellations instead of water, able to see the whole mass of the world from the blue above. She loved this idea more than anything. A way to adventure, and to see the sights of the world, and something where she would be renowned as a discoverer, and a hero of navigation and the world.

So she devoted herself to this, searching and searching, studying and researching, experimenting and writing down everything she found. Finally, she prepared it- a full map and guide to the stars. She went to tell her captain her years of research, but he scoffed and ignored her.
Angry that her work was useless, she purposefully led them through her path of stars on a journey where they were supposed to get treasure- by stealing it.
But she made a mistake, and had found out her research was incomplete.
Her captain stormed in, and tossed her out onto the dock with all of her belongings and research, and all of it scattered everywhere. She tried to call out, but they were sailing away, her only life experience, and her only friends leaving far, far away.

And sitting in the midst of her papers getting ruined by rain, she curled herself up and cried- but who just happened to walk by who was 'lost from her parents'?
Pok! And Pok noticed her papers and followed the trail to the dock only to find Lenka curled up into a small ball, crying.
And Pok wasn't about to just leave someone crying with their papers ruined, so she picked up the ones that could be salvaged, and offered her hand to help Lenka up.

ANNNDD FROM THERE, THIS IS THE BLURRIEST BIT AND ALSO MOST OF THE SHORT, THE TWO GO ON ADVENTURES AND LENKA STARTS TO DO MORE AND MORE RESEARCH, AND SHE FINDS OUT HER VISION SUCKS SO SHE GETS GLASSES. ON THEIR ADVENTURES, POK AND LENKA GET A LITTLE BOW WITH A STAR ON IT AND LENKA PLACES IT ON HER EAR AS A CONSTANT REMINDER WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRUE AND FAKE FRIENDS ARE.
AND ON MORE ADVENTURES, THEY MEET SAMBA, AND THEY GO TOGETHER. ON LENKAS BIRTHDAY, SAMBA AND POK PROMISE THAT THEY WILL SAIL WITH HER TO THE STARS.
AND THEY DO JUST THAT, AND LENKA IS PRESENTED WITH HER STAR CLOAK, BEING DEEMED THE BEST NAVIGATOR OF THE WORLD. SAMBA AND POK ARE UPSET, AS LENKA ALMOST SAYS GOODBYE TO THEM. BUT UNDER ALL OF HER RESEARCH PAPERS, SHE FINDS THE ONE POK PICKED UP WHEN THEY FIRST MET AS SHES WALKING AWAY TO STUDY MORE THINGS. SO, SHE TURNS AROUND, AND RUNS BACK TO THEM, DECIDING TO GO ON ADVENTURES WITH THE TWO FOREVER.
