Leafstar

When Leafstar was a warrior known as Leafheart, she belonged to a colony on the edge of the fields. Their colony was small, but they were happy. They considered each member a part of their family, and lived in a relatively peaceful and harmonious way. Leafstar would consider those years the last she was truly happy.

On the dawn of the tenth moon of the year, a neighbouring group of rogues led an ambush that drastically wounded the health and numbers of their colony. In the aftermath, only a handful of the colony's original members were still standing. In an effort to escape the now dangerous territory, Leafheart suggested fleeing to the mountains and living in the sheltered alcoves they provide. Her clanmates agreed, although reluctantly; they were hesitant to leave the place they had called home for many moons, but understood the need to immigrate to safer lands. The resulting journey was longer and more difficult than any of the clanmates expected, and left their numbers further diminished as the weaker and wounded cats were unable to survive the sheer distance and difficulty of the trek.

Now grieving for both the loss of their colony and the avoidable loss of their friends, the remaining cats began to wonder if Leafheart's suggestion was the best thing for their group as a whole. When they stopped to rest for the day in a nearby moor, the other cats brought up the idea of staying; although it was mostly open land, it still provided the shelter they sought. Leafheart was adamant that they continue to the mountains, where they'd be hidden from everything and anything that could bring destruction. They could live together happily again, hidden from the world that sought to destroy them. The other cats were understandably off put by Leafheart's behaviour and refused to continue the journey, leaving her feeling rejected and bitter. She continued the journey alone, now grieving not only the loss of her deceased colony, but her clanmates as well.

When Leafheart arrived at the mountains, she met a young rogue by the name of Sunnie, who, with her boundless energy and optimism, asked if she could travel with Leafheart to her new home. Leafheart originally refused, but Sunnie, in response, refused to leave Leafheart alone, no matter how hard she tried to shake her in the following days.

Leafheart and Sunnie eventually found the perfect space to make a home in, and Leafheart, having warmed to the idea of having Sunnie around, gave her the title of Stoneclan's first member. (Sunnie was, of course, the one who came up with the name Stoneclan.) Leafheart later officially changed Sunnie's name to Sundapple, as Leafheart recognized her as both a true member of their newly formed clan, and a potential friend.
