First I'll start with some little facts about her. Seiko is a firefly squid which means she glows when it's dark enough and for my own twist on it, her brightness depends on her emotions. The more intense, the brighter she glows. Another thing about her, she isn't like most squids and what I mean by that is that she is mute. She doesn't have the ability to speak. Now some of you may wonder, how does a mute squid communicate in turf or even salmon run? Seiko does have a little device that's kinda like morse code. It's mostly for her team to know where she is and if there's anything to be cautious about. Seiko does also know some other ways to communicate too. She uses text to speech on her phone and sign language. For sign language though, it takes time. So she only really does that in close relationships she has with friends, family or her own partner. So everyone else gets the default text to speech. Seiko is also a bit of an artist! She loves to sketch action poses when she's observing her team practice or others. She's into cosplay and makes her own outfits from scratch and she really enjoys going to cons. She's actually been brought up by her parents for that!

Her mom and dad like going to cons and her dad is the BIGGEST nerd you'll ever meet. ANYWAY, Seiko's way of messaging or texting cute. She always puts emoji's like these at the end to better express her emotions! ⁽͑˙˚̀⚐˚́˙⁾̉ ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖° o(≧∇≦o)

One of her dreams is to actually settle down and continue the cosplay family like her parents did. First thing's first is to get her boyfriend to do couples cosplay with her!

Now for the tough parts of her life. This is a fair warning to those who have been bullied or felt a certain way because of it. Seiko sadly does go through this, but it does turn out alright for her after. This is also a last warning before I go into it. Now in the world of creatures, I've seen and read that defects are not accepted or just abandoned even by their own family. Seiko's family obviously loves her tons and accepts her no matter what. What I'm getting at is that not everyone accepts those who have disabilities sadly. Seiko did attend a public school and was put into a class where the teacher did accommodate her a lot and everything seemed fine in the beginning. Seiko didn't see herself different at all and was happy to be making friends. ONE particular classmate did not like what she was and saw her as weak and odd. So this boy made it his goal to make Seiko feel "welcome". He would trip her a lot, make nasty comments like "freak" and nearly had her fall down some stairs. She did her best to ignore them, but it was taking a toll on the poor girl. One day while she was walking home, she was followed. The asshole grabbed her and beat her up where no one could witness. Made his insults and called her freak again, saying how could anyone want to be friends with something like that before leaving. This broke the poor girl and her parents were shocked and upset when she came home. She didn't want to tell them anything and just stayed in her room. She was eventually transferred to a school that specializes in teaching students with disabilities like hers. Since the incident, she's been wearing masks to cover half her face. She started to see her inability to speak as a curse and slowly grew to dislike herself.

When she hit the turf scene. She saw how many players were idolizing the top tier players. She got an idea of maybe trying to be like them. Maybe things would turn out better for her. So she tried getting good at chargers. She was struggling though and decided to observe other players using it. She'd bring out her sketch book and sneak into some turf matches to watch. One particular blue Inkling was good, so she studied him a lot. Through the observations she was getting better. One day she came across a flyer for team tryouts for a team called the Leviathan Pirates. She thought the name was cute and went to it. After being watched by the team captain, she got the approval and became their official team sniper! Seiko was shy at first with them and would use her text to speech function a lot. When asked why didn't she just speak, she had to explain to them why she couldn't. Afraid of being judged, she embraced herself. But the captain actually surprised her with a hearty laugh and a "THAT'S SO COOL!" comment, It caught Seiko off guard and the other two teammates told her that it's fine. They are willing to be patient and accommodate her. It was the captain that then asked her how else she communicated. That's when she started to teach them sign language.

Over a bit of time, Seiko wanted to get better at sniping to help out her team more. That's when she came across the blue Inkling boy in the plaza. He was with his own team and it looked like they were about to head home. She quickly ran up and tugged on the boy's shirt. Using her phone she was able to ask him to tutor her on some techniques with her charger. Over course of time she got a lot better and even started to develop feelings for the boy. The same could be said for the boy towards her. Both actually decided to go on their first date to Wahoo World. Things were going great and Seiko finally felt like her life was happy. That is, until she saw a familiar face in the area where she was resting. A familiar face that brought many unsettling and anxious feelings into her. The one boy from her past, the one who bullied her and made her feel like her disability was a curse and burden. He made eye contact with her and didn't recognize her at first but when he did, he gave her a jagged smile. He walked up to her and made it seem casual in public that they were old friends. When her boyfriend came back, he looked at him and then at her. The bully laughed and found it funny how she was able to find a boyfriend. At this point Seiko's boyfriend is known as Orson. The bully has no name because he doesn't deserve one. Anyway, he asks Orson if he's dating Seiko out of pity and makes comments about how hideous she is cause she's wearing a mask. Orson could see how upset Seiko was getting and before the bully could spew anymore, his jaw is met with a fist. Seiko wasn't around to witness that though because she ran out of the park. Orson does chase and catch up to her. Seiko at this point is facing away from him and trembling. He notices her mask fell off and she turns to face him. Seiko is crying and can't even type on her phone. So she signs to Orson, thinking he wouldn't know what she was saying. She signs to him how the bully was right, how she's a freak and how anyone could ever love her. To her surprise though, Orson starts to sign back. Saying how it's not true and how she's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. He accepts her for who she is and loves her. With this, Seiko embraces him and walks back with him to the park to enjoy the rest of their date. Seiko found happiness and confidence thanks to her friends and boyfriend. She found the happiness she really deserves

As a bonus: The bully does leave the park with a sore jaw, but is confronted by a small green Inkling that had been making sure Seiko was gonna be fine on her date. She saw what had happened and even heard what this guy said to her. In a short amount of time, the bully is on the ground, unconscious with a small fist mark on his cheek.
