Sadao

Watch out: he's strong, he's feared, and he's an absolute dumbass. Sadao is a forward-looking, hotblooded, wandering swordsman brimming with confidence. To make a living, he mainly takes on bounties, whether they're human criminals or dangerous beasts, and though his fighting style can be seen as wild and reckless (as seen by the countless scars that decorate his body) he's damn good at what he does, and some say he's even more fearsome than an oni when he becomes frenzied. Fighting is what he lives for, and the more fearsome the opponent, the better, so he charges at the most dangerous bounties, and has made a name for himself as a madman who is extremely capable of wielding the sword. Among other bounty hunters though, he's more infamous for being hard to work with, because he disdains being given orders and tends to just do what he thinks is right, regardless of the opinions of his peers.

Sadao comes from a clan of swordsmen, and he's certainly one of the more rogue brothers in his family. From the beginning, he hated being constrained by his family's rules. He was always one of the better swordsmen of the family, though his fighting style was too reckless, the elders often whispered. They had high hopes for him and wanted to turn him into a strong man their family could be proud of, but Sadao, who was fed up with their strict customs, had other ideas. When he managed to run away at age 17, he never looked back, carrying only the clothes on his back and his sword with him.

His talent was later noticed by a master swordsman and a fellow bounty hunter that beat his ass when he got too hotheaded and tried to pick a fight with him. Rather than turn his back on Sadao, he instead offered to let Sadao be his apprentice, and together, they wandered and took down many creatures together. However, Sadao eventually became unsatisfied being under his wing, and left him with a heartfelt goodbye to begin a lonely, wandering lifestyle.
