Personality:
Extrovert, clumsy, dedicated and creative, Coral is known for being a very lovely foxfan. She loves to have fun, and can be a troublemaker when she wants to. will often steal small objects and run around, in hopes that you chase her. She's frequently seen with her neighbor and protector Tinta, and is like an adoptive daughter for her. Sometimes, acts a bit innocently for her age and this may lead her into trouble when alone.

She lives in a small treehouse right beside Tinta's, and a small rope bridge connects both houses so they can visit each other frequently. Coral’s house is small and simple, and counts with a big feather pillow for her bed, a big chest for belongings and a smaller one for her prized shells collection. She doesn’t spends much time there other than sleep and work on her own creations, preferring to stay outside with her friends.

She likes to paint and draw, following Tinta's example and eventually both paint stuff together. Coral loves to play with ink, water, anything she finds interesting. Her favorite place is definitely the beach: she loves to roll in the sand, collect shells, swim and fish.

Her eyes are very sensible to hard sunlight, so she has to use dark glasses most of the time, or stay with her eyes almost closed. Only when under the protection of a tree's shadow or at night she can maintain her eyes open, and will do so always when possible.

She's very proud of her colorful fantail because it represents everything she loves: colors, fish, beach and water. One of her most prized possessions is a small collection of seashells, which she keeps carefully in a tiny chest. She learned how to find the most beautiful ones with her sister Kalea, and both love to search shells together. Tinta taught her how to make collars with shells and beads, and she often presents them to her friends. Coral’s favorite shell is a shiny blue one that is on the collar she always uses.

Backstory:

Previously, Coral was the lucky-charm of an adventurer, and was kept in a cage for a long time. The man wasn't exactly good to her, and food, affection and nice words were rare treats. She remained jailed for several years, and learned to dislike humans for that.

One day, the man’s ship was sank by pirates and the adventurer died, but Coral got to escape. She drifted in the wreckage, and after a few days some birds took her to the nearest beach, putting her in safety.

She put herself to observe the new unknown island and soon found that it wasn't a normal place. The animals spoke just like her, and seemed to have some sort of society. She saw buildings made with elements of the island and canines, lots of canines. Some were tall and elegant, other smaller and quick, but all showed to be in harmony with each other.

She wanted to approach them, but when she took the first step she felt something wrong with her tail, was it… aching? Glancing back, she took measure of the damage: the first half of the paper was ripped, and the fan cover of the left was broken, making the fan bend in a way it wasn’t supposed to.

She felt her stomach twist and the pain increase; suddenly this new place seemed dangerous for a small creature like her.

Before she could get up and hide a quiet voice caught her attention.

“hey, little one… are you okay?”

She shuddered, turning to her left to find an impressively tall… fox? No it certainly wasn’t a fox. She had long ears with fur at the tips, a long, thin snout, and really long legs. The curious vulpine kept her head low, looking down at the little foxfan with a puzzled expression.

“You seem hurt, do you want help?” she offered, looking at the oddly bent fan resting in the sand.

She nodded quietly, flinching when the huge fox reached a paw on the broken wood.

“um, I’ll have to fix some things here” she hummed, trying to rearrange the sticks.

The foxfan yelped, and the fox quickly drew her paw back. Just then coral noticed how strange it was. The paw had some some of thumb, like a mix between canid paw and human hand. the dew toe was elonged, and worked in similar way to a human thumb.

“oh! I’m sorry- um, what’s your name?” she fox asked.

“it’s… Coral. My name is Coral” she muttered

“Look, I’ll have to take you home so I can fix your tail… can I carry you?”

The foxfan looked at her tail, then at the tall creature in front of her.

“will it hurt?” she asked uneasily.

“I can’t promise it won’t, but I’ll do my best not to…” the vulpine replied tenderly, then leaned forward scooping up the smaller fox by the back, resuming her walk.

At the tall fox’s den, which seemed much more like a house, she took care of the ripped paper and glued the broken wood. Retouched some details with ink and coated the whole fantail with a thin transparent plastic.

Coral became very fond of her new friend, and started living with her as a companion. Their friendship only grew after that, and coral got her own house right beside the tall vulpine, whose name is Tinta, as she later found out.

Tinta (adoptive mother)
Tinta is the sweet inker-kitsu that rescued and took care of coral when she first got into the island of Ahia. she's an hybrid of 2 original species in the island, and counts with elemental powers of fire and ice, and the ability to produce ink with her paws and tail tip.
Needless to say coral gaped at this amount of special powers, and she needed to see all of them in action!
Generally, coral and tinta make a nice duo. coral brings life to the silent nature of the tall vulpine, while tinta educates and protects the tiny foxfan. Coral likes to learn new things with her and help with her works always when possible.
On the other side coral loves to explore the beach, and drags tinta to find every big shell she can find.


Kalea (sister)
Kalea is Coral's older sister. for her, the big sis is the best at finding shells, and they love to be in the beach together, eating fruits, playing and whatnot. Kalea can be a bit bossy and oblivious, while coral can be childish and ignorant at times, but both know how to respect eachother and be serious when needed.
Coral has great affection for her, and sees the older foxfan as an example. They will frequently spend time together, exchange lots of gifts and prank eachother in a friendly way.

Friends:

Lavender / Lavy
Coral and lavender are long-date friends. they first met when coral was exploring the forest where the vigilant fanzell lives, and since then they met quite often, soon developing a strong frienship bound.
Lavy is daring and a bit bossy, but knows her limits. she'll never fail to make coral laugh and is very loyal to her only fan-tailed friend.
Coral admires lavender's abilities at gliding though the trees, and loves to play with her whenever she goes to that side of the forest.
At the begining they had some arguments, but nothing that a sincere talk couldn't fix. Their interactions are based on the similarities and differences between their personalities and species.


Pond Skipper (acquaintance)
Coral met this foxfan when she first went to the lake to learn how to fish and since then they became good fishing buds. They like to play and explore together, although they don't spend long periods of time together as Coral's overly excited temperament makes Pond Skipper's patience run out quickly.
