our beloved protagonist, she’s a loud-mouthed gunslinger with bricks for brains. sardonic, crass and attempts to hide her ultimately goodhearted nature behind a thin veneer of aloofness. she has a penchant for optimism even in the face of futility, it’s probably the only thing that kept her from fully submitting to her eternal damnation.

in her previous life, she was an errand boy for the local crime syndicate. having ran away from home, it was the most generous opportunity she had to stay off the streets. this also meant crossdressing and going under a different name to obfuscate her identity as a woman, but she was fine with it for the most part. her bootlegging, failed hits on the opposition and a crippling addiction to gambling was par for the course in her eyes.

her time came early in 1926. she had accrued a lot of debt from gambling, and the man she was indebted to used her real identity as blackmail. florence failed to meet multiple deadlines to pay him back and he, without hesitation, leaked her information to those more prominent in the syndicate. word spread and she was promptly ousted from the job that kept the clothes on her back. her rooftop confrontation with him the next day went awry; the man, in a fit of rage, threw her off the apartment building and sent her plummeting to her demise.

post-death, she aimlessly wandered hell until taking refuge in a run-down 20’s-style house. she spent the next 70 years staring at the ceiling, with nothing but her thoughts and the occasional radio broadcast to accompany her. she is prone to depressive spirals and this was by far the worst one. her spiral got cut short in late 20XX when she was unwillingly yanked back into the land of the living by richard for his birthday, she now resides in his apartment with his roommate liz. she currently works as a wagie at the local fast food franchise to repay him for crashing his motorbike; none of her coworkers have seemingly caught onto the fact that she's a demon, but it’s more likely that they don’t care. oubliette is known for supernatural occurences after all.

having lived an entirely self-reliant and secretive life, she’s had a hard time adjusting to this new, more supportive environment. it’s hard for her to not lash out and try and push this new group of people away, a poor habit of hers that’s almost become reflex. she’s closed herself off to the idea of love or being loved, because even though she craves it desperately, she believes herself to be fundamentally unlovable.
