Kohaku was born a simple koi fish cat living in a small pond. He was ripped away from his home and almost eaten by another feral cat. He was rescued before being eaten but his fish tail was too damaged from the attack so the nature cats made him a 'fan tail' to replace the broken fins. 

He uses his fan tail to swim in the lake near the nature cats and lived out his days in peace.
