A young Kobold wizard who simultaneously does and does not regret coming to the surface. He's a bit of a nerd, a coward, and a crybaby, but he genuinely wants to do good for others and learn more about the world. He's particularly well-read for a Kobold, but he's still a rather naive young creature who has never stepped foot into the outside world and takes any opportunity he can to learn something new.

Neszys Raidrith is a Kobold scholar with orange-yellow scales and orange, kinda brownish, splotches, with a crest of radiant red poofy feathers serving as 'hair,' and a pair of wide, 'lizardy' green-blue eyes. His coloration resembles that of a sunset or autumn leaves. He wears an old, tattered, little pointy hat and a robe, on top of standard Kobold common clothes. Beneath the hat is a pair of broken, snapped-off stubs that at one point could've been called 'horns,' which he is very ashamed and embarrassed about. Another thing that rests beneath his hat is a little pet mouse. The mouse also has a snazzy tiny hat. Neszys made it himself.

Neszys is a particularly neurotic and superstitious, yet highly curious young wizard. He has a vested interest in improving his magical knowledge as well as wanting to learn new things about the surface world, as terrifying as it can be. The only thing keeping him from turning back to his cozy underground life is his desire to experience new things. He's steadily growing out of his cowardice and tries to show more confidence than he actually has, though the constant stress he finds himself put under turns him into a bit of a jackass at times.

When he's feeling especially anxious, he tends to chew on his wooden staff, and he has a habit of eating paper and other things he shouldn't. His curiosity is often strong enough to overpower his otherwise cautious personality, and it can - and often has - gotten himself and his cohorts in trouble, which is something he really hates himself for. He really loves to read just about any book he gets his hands on, he is surprisingly skilled at cooking, and he loves small fuzzy animals.

Prior to setting off on the journey to explore the surface world, Neszys was little more than a humble Kobold scholar whose job was to maintain Kiril Den's approximation of a library. He spent his days combing through the books in the archives and caring for his pet mouse - a creature he found in the caves a year or so ago.

At that time, he was still studying magic under a mentor. When he found the little mouse, Neszys had lost both of his horns in an accident, and the creature became a sort of comfort animal for him in the aftermath of such a painful (but ultimately inconsequential) injury.
