A beautiful young man who proclaimed himself in love with Erzen at first sight, and was heartily encouraged by the frigid reception he received. At his own insistence, he became the attendant of Erzen's mechanical shop, as well as something like his assistant. His sunny, cheery disposition lends itself well to his role as a salesperson, and he seems to enjoy how it grates on his host, as well. He refers to Erzen as his "mentor," but it's unclear exactly what he might be learning.

A casual conversation of any length will reveal that although he is friendly and polite, his personality is disconcerting at best. He has no interest in or empathy for the problems of others, and frequently will ignore what is said to him if he finds it boring. Other people, in fact, seem to matter little more to him than flies. The exception, of course, is Erzen, in whom he has an unending, dedicated fascination. He displays very little interest even in his own circumstances, seemingly unaware of any problems that would keep him from whatever his heart desires.

History

Ange's true identity (although he makes no effort to hide it!) is that of a local legend that has persisted in many forms for generations; he has been alternately a vampire, a demon, a ghost, and simply an unspecified boogeyman. Though he takes delight in these rumors, he is in fact no more than a humble alchemist, who some centuries ago learned the forbidden arts of blood magic.

He was, long ago, the son of a noble family, from which he inherited a fortune, land, and a castle that he still lives in. The castle is falling apart, visibly as old as he is, despite the fact that he can alchemize gold. In his own lifetime, he was a precocious child who loved his parents wholeheartedly; what happened next is unclear, but it resulted in a dead family and a child obsessed with immortality. To this end, he has been stealing the life of others for centuries, kidnapping children and taking advantage of any poor souls who wander into his castle on a dare. He can distill any characteristic from the blood of an individual, but for many years has focused only on youth; what else could he possibly desire?

He has achieved, to a certain extent, his dream of eternal life, but he will unabashedly avoid any situation that puts him in danger. His motivations are entirely selfish and dictated by his unpredictable whims; to say he is a dangerous individual would be putting it lightly. He seems to be awakening to a romantic side of his personality, however...
