Von

"A little color goes a long way."

Von was born to a poor mother who had a one night stand with a noble. She ran away in fear of Von being killed and to this day, Von still doesn't know who his father is. Growing up he was quiet and observant. Times were hard on him and his mother since there was little money to spare. Von knew it upset his mother when he asked for things she couldn't get him, so he hardly asked for anything. They were happy though and Von hardly ever felt like he wanted more in his life.

To the closest village, they had been just another pair of poor farmers trying to sell their wares. Thanks to Von's noble blood though, he had an eye catching coat that made them more likely to draw in customers. There were a few people in the village that Von could hang around with, but he always felt like an outsider to their jokes and games since he was hardly ever at the village.

His mother was his whole world though and he'd do anything for her. When she died after he'd just turned 19, he was crushed but continued maintaining her garden, which had been their bounty and her pride and joy. It was his way of mourning her. She'd taught him to look for beauty of purpose in all things so Von rarely found himself bored. The turning point of his life came when he went on a 4 day hike to explore the nearby forest. On day 3, he was having lunch next to a ravine. Down below was a rushing river surrounded by jagged rocks. Von was amazed by it due to the beautiful rainbow colored moss and fungi that grew along the walls. He decided to try and grab some to take home and grow there. As he was reaching, the edge of the ravine crumbled and gave way beneath his weight. As he fell, Von didn't scream or panic. Instead he looked up and stared at the beautiful sky and the light of the sun reflecting off the wet moss.

He didn't feel the pain of dying, everything just turned black. Something bright shined behind his eyelids though, and he awoke with a jolt to find he wasn't dead. As he investigated his new body, he quickly discoverd he had new abilites. The God of the Sun appeared before him and told him he had been reborn as a Rainbow God. Von wasn't given time to ask questions before the God of the Sun disappeared and left Von to his own devices. Though it wasn't explained to him, Von was hand picked by the God of the Sun to receive Godhood, which meant the Sun God had taken a special interest in him.

He did go back to his old home, but quickly found the urge to travel running through him. He makes a point to always return and make sure the place isn't over run with weeds or pests. If he were well known enough it would be considered his shrine. Other than that, he likes to take on his mortal form and people watch in the villages. He's mostly quiet but when he does socialize, he's fairly awkward and commonly recieves odd looks.
