Hugo Homick

Hugo Harrison Homick is a normal human boy with the ability to create fire through sound. Since Hugo's power, known as the "Devil's Shriek", manifests through sound, every time he screams, stomps, claps, etc. he shoots off sparks and flames. He doesn't have full control of his powers yet but he's working on it via break dancing. This has been extremely tough, as his mother forbids him from practicing near the house and barely lets him leave her except to occasionally hang out with Brent, Amy, and Theresa. At home, he isn't allowed to make a sound, for his mother fears that will cause the whole house to catch aflame, and since Theodora and Lilith have no powers, they'd be helpless.

He is shy, nervous, and quiet most of the time. Tends to be less reserved and much happier and excited around his friends. He likes more childish things like My Little Pony, Avatar the Last Airbender, plushies, Pokémon, etc. His favorite Pokémon are Yamper, Cubone, and Alolan Marowak. Hugo is currently biding his time until he is an adult. He is hoping that Lilith never manifests powers so that she can avoid similar abuse, but in the event she does, he wants to be old enough to take her away if necessary.

He lives in a dysfunctional household with his mother and younger sister, his biological father having left when he was 2 or 3 years old. Hugo barely remembers his father, but according to his mother, Theodora,  Hugo gets both his looks and fire powers from his father. As a result, Theodora is extremely abusive towards Hugo under the guise of keeping she and Hugo's sister, Lilith, safe from a monster.
