Date is correct. From a dream.

"Lived" inside what looked like a giant teapot. The walls were smooth and a shade of blackish blue. The floor was made of wood and had a large grate in it with huge circular holes, but not big enough to escape. At the top of the rounded room, there was another grate, this one much smaller and with slats. When the sun set, the dusty looking water was filled with a dull orange light and the mermaid held still to take it all in, claiming that "he lived for this". Alligator was supposed to be this guy's friend, but when he entered, the fish came from the darker, murkier side real fast saying stuff like "do you think I'm stupid?" when they claimed to know him. Croc manages to calm him down for a second because he's got amnesia or something. Mer dude admits to having a weird "blood sac" on him and things have been blurry since. There are large, circular leach things on the back his neck that have apparently turned him into a vampire with memory loss issues. Memory slowly starts coming back after leaches are removed. Once pried off, the leaches unfold like a square cloth, teetharound the edges. Mer dude apparently needs to run with us, unsure how this happens

Mer cave is visible from outside as a large dome half encased in a hill. Going around the back, there's a large porch thing that's still half hidden in growth. The "porch" is very long, shadows quickly filling it. It's made of wood and goes straight to the teapot thing, where there's a large rectangular hole. The water does not seem to care about this and is perfectly still at the opening. To enter, it is just walked through

He's got his blood that he drinks through the grate on the floor? For somer reason? Maybe he can just swim through the air, but's allowed to leave? There has to be a reason for his reluctance. People acted as if his tank wasn't full of water, breathing and talking normally. Head is a circle? Species is called Mermaids with no gender changes. Afraid of heights, but not depth
