History of the Crown

The name Erebus is passed down in each generation after coronation. The name that was previously given is eventually discarded and forgotton over time.

For generations, the Crown of Bones signify the status as a ruler. The antlers grow and grow and never sheds (but over time it slows down, just never stops) until the death of the King. One would be able to tell how long the king has been alive from the size of their antlers.

The king breaking off a piece of their antlers signify that their domain is in danger/ in the middle of war. The size of the piece that they break off depends on how large the casualty is.

If the crown completely breaks from the ruler, they're immediately stripped from his title of ruler (but it's usually almost impossible to break without the will of the ruler anyways)

the crown of bones only appears in the blood line of the family, their partners are required to wear a golden crown that has (albeit) smaller sized antlers

the crown of bone only appears on one child, and they become the prince/ princess that will soon take the throne when the time comes, and the antlers doesn't always appear on the eldest child. because of this, it's common for the family of Erebus to either have one child that bears the crown and no other children, or have children until the crown appears
