VPN "Vape" | Male | Doberman

[Obtained October 2019]

VPN, often referred to as "Vape" for short, is a very laid back guy. He gives off a very calm, care-free demeanor, and it takes quite a lot to make him angry. He often harbors a lot of guilt that he buries deep down and tries to avoid dealing with because of what happened to his home world, even though no one blames him for it. It's difficult to know exactly what Vape is feeling other than the "chill" vibe he gives off, as he's very good at tuning people out and just doing his own thing. He hates being alone, however, and he'll do everything he can to stay in the company of others. When he's feeling up to it, Vape can be quite the entertainer, taking on the role of "the life of the party" in order to distract himself and his friends from what they've lost. He finds it makes him feel better to give other people joy, and it's slowly helping himself and his group move on and be happier.

He often wears his glasses to avoid frightening others with his robotic eye, as it tends to make people uncomfortable.

History

Vape's home was a digital world controlled by a computer known as "the mainframe." He was tasked as being one of the codes that searched for scrap metal to repair the mainframe whenever it glitched or deteriorated, and he was very good at his job. More than once, dealing with the tampered computer caused his own code to malfunction, resulting in Vape's partially android-esque body as he was forced to repair parts of himself along with the mainframe.

There came a time, however, when the software of the mainframe could no longer keep up with the growing threats against it. No matter how hard he and the other codes tried to strengthen it, it still deteriorated with age. When the virus attacked his home and destroyed everything, Vape was one of the few who escaped with Trey and the others to our world. He felt immense guilt for being unable to prevent the virus from eradicating their home, and as a result he drowned out his guilt by adopting a care-free attitude to allow himself to forget.
