Introduction
Yumemi is the girl who was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Gaming was never her thing, as Dancing always been her biggest passion and she preferred spending her time doing Shopping or watching TV Shows. The only reason she registered into Art Sword Online was her losing a bet to her twin sister Saya.
At first the young woman is rather shook by the terrible announcement, but after getting to know other players and the virtual world of Aincard, she learns to adjest. She fights every day to get stronger so she and her friends can get to the 100th Floor and back to their families & friends in the real life.

Traits
Above all Yumemi is what you'd call 'the girl next door'. She's confident and is easy to get along with (at least outside of SAO), as well as always dresses in style. As Yamato's daughter, she believes hard work will pay off and is taking her responsibilities very seriously. She's also creative and is capable of coming up with all kinds of useful ideas for different situations.
In addition to the above, Yume can actually be very naive, as she's having a hard time understanding people can truly be bad. She's optimistic and it's very hard to break her spirit or let her down - but once that happens, there might not be a way back from it.

Yumemi is of Vanilla-skintone. She has Aquamarine eyes and freckles on and around her nose and cheeks. Her lips are soft pink and her voice is sweet. She has wavy pink hair reaching down past her waist-line, and bangs to the side of her face, also wavy. Behind her bangs she has strings of hair pulled to the back of her head - 1 on each side. She has a feminine body, curvy and very shaped up due to dancing.
Yumemi is a huge fan of aesthetics. She never leaves the house without her hair, make-up, outfit and nails being spot-on. Her style is very feminine and elegant; She knows what flatters her features and what she should keep away from. Her collection of make-up products and nail-polish (accessories included) serves her well for any occassion, and she has a matching pair of shoes to go with any look.

At the beginng Yumemi has no confidence about holding a weapon. She never once held one in her life. Her dancing experience grants her the flexibility to dodge slow-medium attacks from foes.
Later on, she gets more comfortable with her daggers and even "upgrades" them to a pair of fans with sharp ends. After that, when her professions will be of higher level, she'll start coating her weapons in poison against strong/unique foes.

Life Before Aincard
Yumemi was born 17 years ago at Yokohama, Japan, to what you'd call a 'standard family'. Her Father Yamato is a serious businessman, her Mother Minako is a perfectionist kinder-garden teacher and her Twin Sister Saya goes (and always had) to the same class as hers. The couple never denied the girls anything (They even got Yume a White Kitten for her 8th birthday - Yuki), but they had high demands of them. It wasn't always easy for the twins living up to those standards, but ultimately they love them with all their hearts, and it was mutual.
At school, Yumemi's one of the top students in her class, as her Father would expect, but she's not very good with numbers. Her and Saya have their regular group of friends, and together they do study-groups as well as hanging out after school. No one is as close to her as her twin sister, though, and the 2 talks about anything. Despite being so close, the identical twins couldn't be more different than each other: Yumemi likes wearing dresses and make-up, her voice is sweeter and she's been dancing for 11 years now, since she's been 6 years old (That's her biggest passion). Saya is the total opposite; She always wears Jeans with sneakers, has a more of a bassy tone to her voice and prefers gaming over anything else.
Despite looking like the perfect family on the outside, the Kanames are currently having a 'small' crisis. It was only a few days ago that Saya came clean about being gay to the twins' parents. As expected, the couple, primitive-minded as they were, didn't take it well and ever since there have been occasional arguments every day. Truth be told, Saya convinced Yume to bet on how their parents will react to the news. As Yamato and Minako got angrier than ever before, Yumemi ended up losing the bet and was told by her twin to give SAO a go, despite her having 0 knowledge about Video Games.. We all know what happened next.
Worse news for her family, though: Besides losing Yumemi, they lost the only thing that kept a somewhat peaceful atmosphere in the house, as she was the link between them, the one who tries to unify them as well as nurse the pieces.
