Appearance

Kenko is a average height (5’9”) chubby Japanese man. As a maneki-neko, he has a pair of cat ears and a tail, both white-furred. He has medium-length black hair styled in a mullet. His eyes are dark grey. His canines are pronounced, appearing as fangs.

He wears loose brightly colored clothing, favoring flower patterns. He always wears a silver collar with a golden bell, a coin on a cord and a blue headband wrapped around his forehead. On his right hand, he wears a long white glove.

Personality

Kenko is a perky, optimistic person. He’s curious but prone to getting distracted. He loves to learn and see new things. He’s a very social person and likes to be around people. His upbeat attitude makes him an easy friend. However, people being irritated about him tends to fly over his head. He tends to react dramatically to things, though he doesn’t mean to. All in all, he’s a bright person who is hard to get down.

History

Kenko came to America, along with Kouzai, on a mission to spread luck and prosperity in a dark world. He is happy for the new venture, unlike his “friend” Kouzai. He tends to wander off instead of managing their tea shop: the Maneki-Neko’s Tea Shoppe, which is something that irritates Kouzai to no end. When he is on-track, he tends to make the teas and cultivate the plants, something he is naturally good at. His mixes have magical properties and its not uncommon for him to gift one to his close friends.

Skills

As a maneki-neko, Kenko’s main ability is to spread luck. If he takes off the glove on his right hand, with just a touch, he can pass on luck or even imbue items with luck. He also has a near-uncanny sense of good luck, even moreso than normally. His maneki-neko characteristics do not appear to anyone who cannot see past the Veil.

Kenko has quite the green thumb, enjoying taking care of plants.

Trivia

• He tends a garden in the backyard of the Maneki-Neko’s Tea Shoppe. He often presses the flowers from it and keeps a scrapbook.
• Kenko is a spinoff of an earlier OC of the same name (circa 2007/2008) who was a half-Saiyan son of Goku that happened to be able to hop between universes.
