| Human by Christina Perri - Laani has, for the entirety of her life, been told she is cursed. Some of the pride frowns upon her for it, while others simply pity her. Part of the reason she was so accepting of becoming the Learner Oracle is because then she would be be important to the pride, and be able to separate from them. Once the ancestors began speaking with her, however, she realized the situation was more dire; Akilia was a liar, and Laani had no way to expose her thanks to Akilia pronouncing her as cursed. Laani found herself trying to seem unaffected by her pride's opinion of her, able to fake that everything is okay (especially around Akilia, despite now knowing she has sinister intentions), but there are times when Laani wishes she could confront them all. Silent Scream by Anna Blue - Out of everyone she has disappointed, Laani can't help but think she has failed her mother most. Tenga has tried to guide her in life, help her learn to be the pride member Tenga believes Laani should be. However, anytime Laani tries to indulge her mother's attempts to make her a better lady, Laani fails. She feels lonely, like someone she isn't, and Laani is tired of trying to fit that picture. Tenga may be disappointed in her daughter, but Laani is just as disappointed in herself, and it is almost at the boiling point. Sooner or later, Laani will confront her mother about how she feels, because she's silently been crying out for years. She just wants her mother's love, without any strings attached, because she can't be the lioness her mother expects her to be. Judgement by TryHardNinja - This song is, in essence, what Laani's face off with Akilia will one day be. Laani is one of the few pride members who has any suspicions of Akilia, and out of those few, she is the one who has the most backing for it. From what the ancestors have told her, Laani will help serve as Akilia's retribution. She is, essentially, Akilia's judgement. Even if no one else sees what her Teacher is doing, the ancestors have told her about the crimes she's committed that Laani hasn't seen, such as helping Msaliti get away with murder. However, since Laani was pronounced cursed by Akilia, a move Laani is only just beginning to understand the motive behind, she needs more proof than what she says the ancestors have told her; otherwise, it's her "cursed" words against Akilia's. Laani would like to believe Akilia can change, can be a good person, but currently, she has prepared herself for the inevitable confrontation, where Laani can finally find out why Akilia has done all that she has. Wondering from HSMTMTS - Laani constantly wonders whether or not she has made the right decisions in her life. There are plenty of times that she has laid awake at night, wondering what things would be like if things had happened differently. What if she spoke up about Akilia now, before she had everything she needed to to negate the idea that she is cursed? What if she had kept her cubs? What if she admitted now to Jino and Ua being hers? What if? What if? What if? It is the guilt of giving up her children and seeing how much that affects them that most frequently keeps Laani awake; how different would things be if she'd never given them up?
