Personality: Elam's a bookworm that prefers staying cooped up in library instead of helping with 'inter-species relations' or training. He knows the other leones view him as a weak failure, the son of an elder should be so much stronger and more responsible, but honestly he's stopped caring. There's so much history they could be studying and learning from but all anyone else seems to care about is the present problems, not that he would openly speak out against the council. He'll just do things his own way and hopefully they'll leave him alone, it's not like most felinians care to get along anyway.

History: Elam was raised by a well respected elder of the council, but between his pale coat and weak skills it quickly became apparent that he wasn't suited for the council. For a few years his mother tried to keep him around and encouraged him to train so he could prove himself to the others but his continued refusal and draw to the library left her little choice. She finally renounced his position as a council heir and exiled him to the library on the condition that he organize and maintain the records within. Since he hasn't really seen his mother much, or any of the other leones really, but he's sure that one day they'll see that his work is just as important...maybe. He ran into Ralph on one of the lycan alpha's trips to commune with the elders and the two young heir rejects hit it off pretty well, hanging out in the library while their parents were busy. Ralph was happy to learn about the world history and the felinian culture while Elam was just glad to have someone that would listen and a new goal, figuring out how to help the cherub siblings.

Species Data: Felinians are solitary creatures that are spiritually bonded to a small bird-like creature, their familiar or companion, at birth and then left to fend for themselves; in appearance they typically resemble humanoid felids with short fur and retractable claws. Individuals may draw more closely from a single felid species and identify themselves as such, or simply stick with a generalized sense of 'feline'. The only notable sub-species are the 'leones' which make up the Council of Elders and govern the species as a whole; these leones are typically the only social members of the species and they maintain Feles City, the only truly neutral land in felinian territory. The rest of felinian land is divided into small personal territories protected by an individual that calls that space home where they actively avoid other members of their species except during mating season. They can also 'flash step' in order to escape detection and this is often used by young individuals still looking for a territory or as needed to travel long distances. This natural avoidance has developed a common practice among felinians to 'mark' outsiders as under their protection by gifting these 'friends' with shed or broken claws which are often worn as charms on necklaces or bracelets. Felinians also idealize the ancient gryphons which are said to have created their race and given them their familiars.

Beast Form: Felinians have the ability to fully give in to the 'beast', allowing them to take an appearance more closely resembling their felid relatives and many prefer this form to their 'true' one. In this form they cannot communicate with words, but they otherwise retain full control and can freely 'shift' back whenever they please.
