the modernized goro
author of horror and thriller/suspense novels, penning under his mother's maiden name, living in the US after having been raised in the UK by his english father and japanese mother. grew up in the 80s and worked in a record store when he was young and was an avid collector of records, a collection he still maintains today. began writing a draft of his first novel while working this job and met his then girlfriend, who pushed him to publish his book. was met with relative success following his first novel, and continued to write, eventually propelling himself to a substantial publishing deal, which moved him to the united states, where he connected with family he didn't know he had growing up, particularly his half brother Mark (Maki) who moved to the states with his mother and brother following her divorce from their father. through his brother, he became connected to his nieces and nephews, and spends his holidays with his brother's family since the passing of his parents and his divorce from his wife.
career prospered in the US, he and his girlfriend married and bought a home that they made their own with a well loved garden, but over the years he became embittered by publishing company demands and deadlines and the separation from his authentic interests in writing, and simultaneously he was withdrawing from his relationship with his wife to bury himself in his work, drinking too much, etc. eventually, his wife leaves him and returns to the UK, spurring goro to write his one romantic tragedy novel under a new pen name, his wife's maiden name
he has lived alone in the home he created with his wife for around 15-20 years now, and has become comfortable with solitude, but continues to eat dinner every week in a restaurant he once held the same ritual with his wife in. but there's a new waiter in town.... ... /cue goysho
